Hey guys, quick question - something else for a change :p Does anyone have ALL the barnacle planets DSS scanned? And would you maybe be willing to post the materials found on them? What i'm after is a cross reference between the resources found on any bncl planet and if they maybe match or have exclusions. Just spent 2 weeks at jaques, searching for possible candidates and with today's update the list of candidates could maybe be narrowed down somewhat. But since i only went to M5C and pleione 11a i only have the data on them. The bcl-meta sheet doesn't have the info yet.
I'm fully aware of what's going on at the moment and my request being rather low priority, but if you happen to have the info just lying around... Thanks

Nice, some new stuff with the new patch. I will be off the game for ~2 weeks, and I hope you will solve the Ultimate the question of Life, the Universe, and Everything until then.
Live long and prosper

That is a very good point. Perhaps we should reconsider - before the UP sonogram was revealed & diverted thoughts to a potential surface solution there were reports of blue flashes above a location on 5C (which coincided with the Antares Memorial Galnet article & its mention of metamaterials bending light in unusual fashion, hinting at a cloaking mechanism) & other things were happening in 5C orbit. So can the sonogram be reassessed from the viewpoint of an orbital solution?

I asked this question early on in my quest for relevance and was told that on the surface of 5C, they point toward the center of the planet. I'm not saying don't retest, but surely they wouldn't point directly to the center unless you were on the diametrically opposite side of the planet from what it was looking for.

I´m currently sitting at Pleiades Sector IH-V c2-5 at the Pre Logistics Support Gamma Outpost. I haven´t seen this kind of military outpost design in game yet and all they are selling is weapons, weapons and more weapons. And some armour and scrap. It will sure get hot in the Pleiades in the near time, probably really soon. And somehow I think we won´t be sitting at the UP puzzle for a year like at the UA puzzle. We won´t have that much time until...[alien]

Look at the radar, you can see that Merope and Merope 5 are on the same plane and I am directly in between them. Now look at Merope 5 above, with the orbit of Merope 5a shown. The asteroid belt and plane of Merope 5 is almost perpendicular to the line between Merope and Merope 5. Not what the Elite Galaxy Online shows at all. Maybe that's what an Orrery is supposed to do, I don't personally know. But all I have accomplished is to prove that using the Elite Galaxy Online orrery to solve this puzzle is not possible and shouldn't be done.

Another thing I discovered is I could not, regardless of what I tried, get the Merope 5 orbit line to show up. I still wanted to try to fly to the intersection of the Merope 5 and Merope 5b orbit lines and see what happened, but it was impossible because of in game mechanics/bugs.

So now my questions:

- Is the fact I can't get Merope 5 to generate an orbit line a bug, or has the Merope system been altered by FD and Merope 5 isn't orbiting at all? If so, that would be pretty significant.
- I also don't understand orbital mechanics. Merope 6 shows an orbit line around Merope 5, but is shown in the list as being a child of Merope (the main star). The way I understand it, Merope 6 should actually be Merope 5d, and shown as a child of Merope 5.

Dont think theres anything odd here. As far as I can see there is nothing in the system status description which describes the axis of Merop5 and hence it rings with relation to anything. I just see stuff about its orbit. Regards 6, it is shown with a line to 5, but as it has its own rings (Merope 6A Ring) it gets its own number. At least that is how I read it.

CAN CONFIRM THAT TIDAL LOCKING IS NOT WORKING AS INTENDED ON MEROPE 2A.

Logged off a few hours ago directly (to within a km or so) in Opposition of Merope 2, on the surface of 2A... (As in M2 is at the centre of the planet) M2 is now 90+ degrees up in the sky. This is a complete joke, as that simply IS NOT THE WAY TIDAL LOCKING WORKS. What's going on here? Something to do with the update?

Might want to check the axial tilt there

The markings on and around the sphere "planet" seem to mean basic maths things iv written them on the chart below. i know this has been done but just in case some one spots something. i think the symbols in the corners are a bit misleading at the moment and are resolved possible once the maths is done.

Sorry if this got posted already, catching up still ... the bottom-left are not Tangents, the two lines are Normals. I'm also not sure I place solid stock in the description of "Quadrant."

I do think it is interesting that there is a Radius, and an Arc; especially since the numerical order read clockwise from TR is 3142 (aka ∏).

But then my batty primary teacher told me that the fact you could make the number Pi from 1,2,3,4 was proof of God's design... and I'm not quite ready to elevate Michael Brookes to that position yet

I'm going to go and have a look at HIP 17225.

It's an odd place to choose for a base because it's the far side of the Pleiades from the bubble.
It's a bit further out than other known barnie systems as well.

The sonogram has been (is still being) assessed with a great deal of possibilities. Some include the planet itself, some include from orbit (given the hint from the convoys that they were "orbital testing") and some which think the sphere indicates the UA shell, or the region of space where UAs are frequently found.

You'll find what you're looking for here:
https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet...HpjYGeZL9GHQ/edit?pref=2&pli=1#gid=1094783116

This is by no means a definitive list; around 50 total barnacles have been found, but this gives some information regarding what materials can be found with a few of them.

I asked this question early on in my quest for relevance and was told that on the surface of 5C, they point toward the center of the planet. I'm not saying don't retest, but surely they wouldn't point directly to the center unless you were on the diametrically opposite side of the planet from what it was looking for.

The UP points invariably to the center, even when checking from different angles. Triangulation has already been considered.

Im more interesting in reason why they maked transmission longer. Maybe to incrase resolution of binary hided in sound? Or they find voice message that low in freqs hard was to decode? What if we will need decrypt that messages in future but it is need to take time during banalce or something?
They didn't. The bug was that free-floating UPs only exist for 6 minutes before disappearing. However, prior to this patch, the idle audio they played would exceed the amount of time they existed (so the audio would continue past 6 minutes). It's now been adjusted so that when the probe dies, so dies the audio.

There is no tinfoil nonsense going on, and this was answered pages and pages ago, several times over. Please read the thread.

Yep, because everyone has time to skim 171 pages. Calm down. If you don't want to answer what you consider a stupid question, just don't reply.

This particular individual had been asking/positing the same thing repeatedly over the last tens of pages that I had been skimming and would likely continue to do so until someone finally informed them of their error. For the benefit of the thread, I took on that responsibility. Calm down yourself, heh.

EDIT: In addition, simple logic would reduce the 171 pages to only a few tens of pages by noticing when the changelog for the latest update was posted and then only reading from that time in this thread. That's what I did, and it only took me about fifteen minutes to get up to speed.

Can we get a barnacle planet scan initiative to see if they share any materials distribution.

HIP 17225 A1 - barnacles not confirmed

Iron - 21.7%
Nickel - 16.4%
Sulphur - 15.4%
Carbon - 13.0%
Chromium - 9.8%
Phosphorus - 8.3%
Zinc - 5.9%
Vanadium - 5.3%
Cadmium - 1.7%
Ruthenium - 1.3%
Tungsten - 1.2%

It seems you have no luck then. I did all my tests with the UP and a free floater UA in GW-W D1-52 a couple days ago.
Moreover, I've got all my UA's and Fragments for Palin from there and one jump surrounding systems.
Sometimes they spawned rapidly, sometimes I needed to cruise far from the star for 20.000ls or more. It's random, but they spawn in every system of the bubble.

Check the FP for RedWizzard's UA Shell tool.

Finally found that rabbit last night. UA in a single star no planets system. Had planned on spending as long as it takes to find one but it only took about 8 minutes.

I can only guess what I was seeing before is just an artifact of spawn rates in general

I have found the FNS Erebus, static battlecruiser in Pleiades Sector JC-U B3-2, at planet 2. This is a known barnacle site outside of Merope. There are also convoy beacons around.

Here's my issue with this: If the numbers are the first four digits of pi, shouldn't it read: 3 1 4 1 instead? And if it is pi to three decimal places, rounding up the last digit to 2, where is the decimal? Is the double arc adjacent to the 3 supposed to represent it?
