So , if you are fine with ammo in other games why not in elite?
1) Don't know what you are referring to. What other game are we discussing?
2) I'm not opposed to ammo in elite. I'm opposed to ammo on MCs (as they presently exist).

If you want to know why: read my posts. I'll quote the first one for you:
This doesn't make the game harder nor more balanced; and in a game where I can manufacture ammo out of stuff that takes no space in cargo, it doesn't add to immersion.

All this means is that I will have to make more (otherwise unnecessary) trips to stations; and either rig explorers with beams or stock up on yet more (otherwise unneccessairy) synthesis mats.

Where ammo limitations serve gameplay, I'm all for them.
Buying ammo is like buying fuel it grounds it in reality.
Except when I don't buy ammo because I synthesize it.

This game is not grounded in reality. There's noting realistic about this game other than the scale of the galaxy.
Not only is "realistic" a bad defense of poor game-play, and not only is it inconsistant with the rest of the game, it's not true.

Realistically: I could store more ammo in my hold. Realistically: I could load up my magic synthesis machine with materials purchased from the market to make it.

I do think we should be able to buy extra ammo storage instead of having cargo holds but its not that bad
I agree with both of those. It's not *that* bad. It's a petty annoyance. One I think we were better without.

It hurts so much to read this because these forums are getting so close to Poe's law.

Thinking more on the lines of ignorance is bliss. Poe's Law can be attributed prior to Poe about the time the caveman used a stick to draw in the dirt. Should be called Grog's Law. Politicians use that tactic everyday.

So people who use lasers (which have unlimited ammo and let you stay in a fight indefinately) might as well play space invaders?

(I didn't actually say that. Please don't misquote me)

Also: From the perspective of "a fight", the MC *does* have unlimited ammo. Docking is something you do between fights (and harvesting minerals before or between).

(I squeeze the trigger indefinately, the ammo runs out. Placing a word in "quotation" and *asterisk* does nothing to validate you're argument. Having a different perspective and not agreeing on a particular premise before we begin moots the argument and we cannot progress.)

They functionally are. They distributor can have a recharge time; but this is analogous to the magazine reload on a MC, not to flying back to station.

(Good point. Unfortunately, ballistic weapons need ammunition, lasers need power. Both of which are not infinite. You're being pedantic)

Then do it. There's nothing about unlimited ammo that stops you. Play how you want to play.

(Thank you. So kind. I think you need a hug. No, I really do. Deliberately being argumentative and inflammatory is not helping your case. I feel sorry for you)

No common ground with which to really pursue an interesting discussion. Regardless of actually agreeing with some of the OPs comments, I don't wish to be dragged into a slanging match over misinterpretation and trolling behaviour.

The same place my unlimited air and unlimited electricity comes from?

The air is recycled by life support, which is powered by your ships fusion reactor, which needs fuel. To get fuel your either have to go back to a station or fuel scoop. Your ship isn't powered by solar energy... though that would make a neat "recovery" module if it would let you synthesize fuel slowly while logged out near a star; that could definitely save some people on long distance exploration from the catastrophic mistakes that can happen.

I seriously don't get your complaint. If ammo is a hassle, switch to lasers.

Besides, if multicannons get unlimited ammo because it's a hassle, why not mines, missiles, plasma accelerators, rail guns, etc. ?

Infinite ammo was silly fun, but also made missiles, torpedoes, fragment cannons, and railguns crazy. We have ammo limits for a reason.

I would like an ammo rack module that lets me use internal space to carry large reserves though.

That's my point.

It isn't a *functional* limitation (one that would effect game play); but one that just adds useless grind in (either in hoping the planet RNG gods are kind or flying to stations every 15min)

Why play at all? It's such a grind. You have unlimited amount of money, but you still have to do stupid functional stuff like buy and sell cargo or go to RES and shoot pirate... it's insane! I demand Frontier to add unlimited amount of credits to my account. Also, we already have the Elite rank in exploration, but we have to do stupid flying around the galaxy, scanning stuff then - get this - COMING BACK with all the data to the bubble aNd then sell it all. How silly! I want my - already possessed - Elite in exploration now. And don't get me even started on CQC! All these ships and modules that I already have LOCKED behind this stupid functional death matches?? Seriously? What gives Frontier?

Oh and also - why live at all? I'm already dead anyway...

Anyway we should be able to store ammunitions.

This actually isn't a bad suggestion. If we can synthesize on the fly, why can't we synthesize ahead of time and store surplus ammo in the hold? There would need to be a long delay time to reload the magazines, though. Perhaps this will be one of the things your friends can do when joining in multi-crew: "Get out there and reload my weapons!" lol

Anyway, if you can synthesize extra ammo while in combat, you should also be able to reload from your cargo hold from extra ammo stored there.

Wow, I'd never expect a mod to take part in this troll fest.
It must be even better troll than I thought.

So: since the patch I no longer have unlimited MC ammo.

I'm honestly just disappointed.

This doesn't make the game harder nor more balanced; and in a game where I can manufacture ammo out of stuff that takes no space in cargo, it doesn't add to immersion.

All this means is that I will have to make more (otherwise unnecessary) trips to stations; and either rig explorers with beams or stock up on yet more (otherwise unneccessairy) synthesis mats.

grind... grind...

I am disappointed.

Just prospects for materials and reload on the go. The premium reload synthesis gives a nice 30% damage bonus too. This is what I personally do

I am also curious why there is no IDDQD and IDKFA.

.. oh yes.. SPACE ENGINE, maybe that should people play :D
