Is it possible the UA is pointing PAST merope? Has anyone jettisoned one on the other side of the system?
No, no one has ever thought of that in 70,000+ posts you are the first. Previously we've always been dropping it from the same side of Merope how could we have been so blind.
Well according to the spreadsheet, nobody has shot the UP. That would have been the first thing I'd have tried after seeing how it reacted with a UA nearby.
If this is correct then can we move it somewhere else and see if the data changes. Or is it a probe sent to one system that only has the capability to record and send one set of data back to wherever it came from?

After some googling it turns out there is a very common binary code schema that does not have more than 2 consecutive 1's or 0's
(as we see in the UP tuba data stream). It's call Manchester Code. And was used by Voyager 1.

Anyone tried the earlier suggestion, to scan 4 UPs in the same system at the same time by four ships in a wing, where each member will target a different probe and honk at the same time?
It's really tedious to do (especially considering everyone has to make a separate recording of what they hear) though so I don't think that's the intended solution to the puzzle. Each person will probably record the identical broadcast we already have.

Mostly just honking, from various distances. At 250m the ship isn't moved about, but is still disabled.
Why though are they trying to interrogate it. Seriously though seems like a waste to me.
While I was rereading previous threads (so many theories keep coming back...), I bumped into one of my posts on the purrs. You can find it here. (Thread 2! I'm old.)
It's probably already been done but my experiment focused on repeating patterns across different recordings. Here it was on the same UA but from two different POVs (Zenith's and Rat's).
The most "interesting" bit of my post was the image:
Same purrs towards the end until it's scooped. I don't know if it means anything but I thought maybe it could give you guys ideas.

Yes but did produce a result, the death mist was not green this time.
