Hardware & Technical Titan X (pascal) announced...

MSI is a great brand. Very good motherboard also
I like ASUS ROG boards. Lots of decent features built in including RAID support. Waiting eagerly for the AM4 Mobos to be announced for the Octo-core Zen chips. That will be my new gaming rig.

PS. Just checked the MSI site, motherboards section. Hmmm, need to do some research. Thanks for that.

The Titan X sees a 30% increase in performance compared to the GTX 1080, which is already like 30% faster than the Maxwell Titan X. Holy crap...!

Frankly though, it bothers me that people seem to believe that nobody will buy a GPU for $1200. According to PC Perspective's Ryan Shrout, they're sold out. And because of Nvidia is now handling all the Titan X sales through their website, no price increase will likely occur.

Oh and it overclocks to slightly above 2ghz. It's a very, very hot GPU though. ;)

Yikes, just done a quick calculation, with a stable OC of 2050MHz (which is what a couple of reviewers acheived) the TitanX would be hitting 14.7tflops!

Compare that to the averages* for the 1070 at 7.9tflops and the 1080 at 10.4tflops, that's a nice jump!

*based on the reported clockspeeds via 3dmark for 1070/80

After spending $980 on a GTX 980 a while back ,going too wait 25 years , before I upgrade, as I really tried of Nvidia saying this is NEW, and 5mins later, NO its not THIS IS !!.

You can OC the 1080 too, mine runs at 2100 Hz and it runs cooler than my 980TI did OC to 1450 Hz I'm not going to change to the X, this is just fine for my need, even if I would go full loco and get a VR set, I would be fine :D

Absolutely!
The Titan X is just for people that really, *really* want the absolute top end products. The new 1070 runs just as fast as the 980ti but runs at lower temperatures and requires less power so that is going to be my n1 choice when stocks and prices are more reasonable.
And if you have a 1080 you're pretty much safe for the upcoming 3-5 years. :)

But he makes what of his former cards ?

:D

He has sold on his previous cards to help pay for the Titan!!

Despite no emails or communication from Nvidia, my mate received something in the post today.

I am hoping that he is benchmarking tonight.

It would seem that 1080 TI is in project. I have read somewhere but I do not remember where

I really can't see any room for a 1080TI card, that would only give you a very small advantage out of the box.
Those who are or already did buy the 1080, wont need a new GPU for the next 3 years at least. By that time we will probably see a new jump in GPU performance. Water cooling and OC the current card will push it to the limit and we also need to have games taking advantages of these powerful GPU's

Elite is not even halfway there yet.

But I just know the moment I decide a 1080Ti isnt coming/going to be worth it and buy a 1080, they will release an awesome 1080Ti.

They said that the 1080 TI will be like the Titan X, based on the GP102 but a bit castrated. But also cheaper ...

I don't see any reasons for Nvidia to release a 1080ti, as much as I don't see the reasons behind AMDs RX470.
And if the rumours are true, then Nvidia will release Volta next year. They already have the high end market under control anyway...
