Hey, not sure if this has been mentioned yet but has anyone taken a look at one of the recent news articles?

The name of the ship translates to "My heart and soul" in latin. Could this possibly be directing us to look in the heart and soul nebula, with the signal being the name or anagram of one of the systems there? It's possible this has nothing to do with the UAs or Barnacles but it's worth checking out, I'll head out that way to see if I can find anything.

You should read through this thread more. This Article is about the rift mystery not the Barnacle UA/UP

Spent several hours in the crater-in-the-Crater on Merope 5c. Got there after dark. Didn't encounter anything unusual (other than falling off the mountain and bouncing to the bottom). I'm giving up for a while. Science is hard. My brain hurts.

I know UA's aren't the new hotness right now.. but I'm 3/3 on finding a UA in HIP 15904 if that helps anyone. Fly safe, Commanders!

Thanks, but that's the "UA shell" where they are expected to be found. A circular area about 135-150LY from Merope. Frontpage info, look for 'shell'
Or direct website here: http://entim.no-ip.org/ed/uarepository/shell
(Then use controls on the left side, turn off the white dots)

Yep - that's lots of fun. I did it too off the top off the highest of a twin peak mountain, and bounced in the crater of an extinct volcano, with no way to drive out, and the walls were too high to boost out of with the SRV thrusters...

I spent some time trying to get out, then a little more time looking for the "Self Destruct" button.

Sadly, I survived my tumbles down the mountain, then flew to HIP 17 whatever to get meta-alloys and flew right into the frickin' planet on approach to the barnacle site. D'oh!

Ross 47 near A8, only looking there as they have been found there.

Have been looking for two weeks, literally every hour spent doing it.

One last weekeng, another yesterday.

Same here. I managed to check my logs, not seen anything since 27. July, the evening before 2.1.0.5 was pushed.
Logs doesn't show UP & USS per se, but I had pruned my logs after my previous flights in G 99-49.
And that night I was back in the system and managed to fail another attempt at snatching one.
2.1.05 hit us, and I haven't seen any USS UP convoys after that.
Degraded, Encoded, Weapons firing spam for the lose. :(

So I checked out the Federal Incursion yesterday and today. Tried mapping the locations Jmanis found. Incidentally I did not find any free floaters in Hyades Sector AB-W B2-2 ( It was on the upper edge of the UA shell 145 something ly) - I didnt stay super long though either. Was hoping there was a pattern beyond the "stepping stones" that might give us some ideas about UP locations ... The only thing I noticed was that the progression of stations didn't follow in order from Fed Space to the Pleiades ... Alpha Outpost is in the middle.
