So you want to know about the Formidine Rift? (Part 3)

Maybe it is a stupid note, but did someone try to seek the EAFOTS sector on map (with only Economy types highlighted) ? I remember that Jaques was found this way.
nice to see ideas like that. please guys just do it and dont hesitate or wait for a response in this thread. we need the poeple, eg the ships and their minds, out in the eafots sector.

I doubt there's going to be any kind of economy or government there - that would imply that it's already been discovered and been catalogued by Universal Cartographics.

I am seeing a lot of "write down system names visitdd" type posts, are some people not yet aware of EDDiscovery?

For anyone that may not be, I suggest checking it out, FD sbould be hiring those guys and getting them to deaal with exploration...

Well, heading back to the bubble for a couple of days.

So far, 220 systems surveyed, done a quick run down the R-R line which passes through the edge of the sector and done a general snoop around with various galmap filters (state/population/economy) found nothing that stood out as significant.

Although one odd thing happened when the system I logged off in wasn't the system I was in when I logged back in, either that or I'm just getting old and forgetful!

I'm currently heading back out in a 45ly jump range shielded and armed AspX. I got as far as exploring IC 1805 last time before buckyballing it home for Engineers.

Right now I am thinking we might be looking for specific custom descriptions on planetary bodies. Something like "This world shows signs of being bombarded from orbit". That sort of thing.

It doesn't workj for everyone, I'm not sure why, maybe the OS? I use Windows 8 and EDD just crashes on instal every time.

Only basic functions of it work for me, trying to use any of the map features or anything else just generates an error and crashes. It's weird because it's supposed to have support for windows 8/10.

This. There's plenty of vague ideas being floated, but ultimately it needs boots on the ground and people taking action.

Could, perhaps, the Heart and Soul Nebulae be a form of gateway we are supposed to pass through and then on to find whatever lies on the other side?

A galactic version of the Pillars of Hercules?

I've been mentally labelling them as pillars myself, and very much view them as the 'gateway to the mystery zone'. I spent a while on the proverbial threshold, checking the view to see if anything particularly stood out.

Possibly but that wouldn't really make sense as you can go past that area regardless of whether you go between the nebulae.
You could be on to something though, there might be something BETWEEN the two nebulae in one of the EAFOTS systems.

There was a pretty great theory posted in one of the other Formidine threads on here that said that maybe it has to be a female CMDR to find it. "It depends on who's looking" seems to hint at it, and considering Kaihara and the old lady were both women, and the person to find the first Formidine clues was a woman... anyone wanna change their pilots gender for a bit and drive around the nebulaes?

My pilot is female, haven't noticed anything out of the ordinary yet though. I doubt it relies on your pilots gender as Drew has stated that there are no real requirments of any kind and that a single player could figure it out. I feel like he was merely saying that it depends on if you're smart and patient enough to figure it out.
