So you want to know about the Formidine Rift? (Part 3)

You could be on to something though, there might be something BETWEEN the two nebulae in one of the EAFOTS systems.

This is what I've been thinking as well, plus the Children of Raxxla patrol (waypoints 2 to 3) through this area though this probably doesn't mean anything.

My boyfriend has an amusing theory that the Formidine Rift is where all the galaxy's missing socks are stored, it'd certainly be worthy of the "fear" part of the name, could you imagine the smell? Kinda reminds me of that one Ren and Stimpy episode where they find the worlds missing left socks in another dimension... (or was it just an alien planet? I can't remember)

My family must have a long history with the rift then... I thought the story about rebellion during the Struvian Clothes war was an unlikely origin of the name. :D

I hope the NDA and it all basically being in one man's plans (or head) doesn't mean this will fizzle out like the Publius Enigma* in the 1990s.

* look it up.

Or, worse, Quo Vadis (also look it up, from the same vintage as Elite). Lots of frustration and not a small amount of rage involved in that one.

I'm currently heading back out in a 45ly jump range shielded and armed AspX. I got as far as exploring IC 1805 last time before buckyballing it home for Engineers.

Right now I am thinking we might be looking for specific custom descriptions on planetary bodies. Something like "This world shows signs of being bombarded from orbit". That sort of thing.

I suspect it will be graphically quite striking. Recall the old lady's words “What’s there? Wish I could tell you, but they edited my memory pretty good, took me long enough to stitch this lot back together. Whatever it is, it’s something that Galcop, the Imps and the Feds don’t want us to see” (from: Drew's “Elite: Reclamation”) ,
so I think it's some record of Galcop+Imp+Fed actions (possibly shameful?) in the past. If they had wiped out a non-hostile (i.e. not Thargoid) alien civilisation that might fit; otherwise it might be something done to Thargoids that the general population would not approve (but I can't imagine what that would be); or maybe it's something that was done by them against humans? (possibly a lost generation ship? but the distance from Earth is surely too far for that to fit).

Question: Do the Children of Raxxla (the player group) actually know more than we do at this point?

I'd be surprised if it's anything to do with Thargoids - since it could've been discovered at any point since the game's release, it would've had a major impact on FD's timescales in terms of both development and the story.

Could be a hyperspace capable colony ship. The clone world of Teorge, springs to mind. Both Kahina and the old lady fits the physical desciption well.

someone said that drew wager or the like gave the hint, " look to the skies ", searched the galmap for EAFOTS SK-Y and found a system, nothing immediately noticeable or unusual, but the system does exist.

Well noticed.

Could also be a small hint to look up, above the galactic plane.

I've just arrived in the area (currently in the Soul Nebula) and the size of the EAFOTS sector is quite daunting, I did note one edge of it may be on the Reorte Reidquat line so am going to have an initial search in this region after a short 1300 ly trip from the nebula while keeping my eye out for any notable stars on the way there

Could simply be a bog standard debris field somewhere - but with Thargoid (or worse) debris.

Just checked HD 17520.

It's in the EAFOTS region all on it's own

It's an O class star with a large black hole only 30kLS from the parent star.

Superb visuals when looking back at both the nebula and the nearby bright star clusters with the gravitational lensing.

thats why i think we are searching for a persistent uss with a debris field and a personal nav beacon with new hints.

and remember she wants us to find it because she's space edward snowden.

sterlino is going to check out EAFOTS CO-R C5-0, im heading for EAFOTS CO-R B47-0 its only 8 jumps away.
