I was gonna ask if anyone's taken a jaunt out there.
But instead I read through the first post. I see some UP experiments but not many.
I've just done a spectrograph test in orbit mode around Merope 5c, nothing unusual. =(
I'll head on over to Polaris and try some stuffs.

No to that btw, tried it before. I was planning on testing all the know permit systems that way. We did this test back in the UA days too. As I say I don't know if it's been done, can't see a mention on first page.

Depends on the engineer. Some have one that you can sell to (but not to buy from) in order to gain rep with them. Marco Qwent, Selene Jean, Didi Vaterman and Lei Cheung all do, I think. Possibly some of those I haven't unlocked too.

How then do you sell commodities to them and rank up? Several of them have that option.
They do however not sell anything that I know of.

The UP TESTS google sheet linked on the front page hasn't been updated in weeks. (more than a month?).
I've tried to contact the people who own it for more than a week, got nothing back.

It doesnt mention polaris being tried or using it to try and unlock a single permit locked system.
It is the drawing that is a key, not the UP itself, in my opinion, and in MB's as well
You will not be able to unlock any permitted systems with it. I've tried many with no result. Anyway, a couple tests in Polaris after the honk could be reasonable.
But remember, we need to understand the drawing, not just honking around randomly.
It does mention taking it to earth which also would be interesting.
It was taken to earth already on EDs stream lol
Any ammonia worlds nearby you could try honking the UP in the vicinity of?

I have every planet and system within 20 ly of polaris scanned... sadly, no.
Also, I reported a bug where two neighbouring systems were closer together (in jump distance) than two of the stars in one of the systems. So I agree with the expectation that you can't supercruise between systems.
