This is getting ridiculous, I've got nothing against women, infact I love them, however why can't we see some NEW movies instead of old reboots of good movies just with women in the main roles?

It's stupid, its doesn't work (Ghostbusters I'm looking at you) and it's just plain lazy work.

Can't the writers make a good movie form the ground up without rebooting an old movie?
I remember some very good TV shows and movies with female lead roles.

like Widows, Bad Girls, Agatha Christie and many more.

This is just silly, what do you think?

They should remake He-Man with a female lead :)

Of course, she would have to self identify as a sparkplug to be fully representative of an inclusive and equal society.

Hollywood does not make new IP because new IP doesn't sell tickets.

It is the same reason we hear the same 40 songs on the radio over and over. Our brains are wired to like the familiar more than the unfamiliar.

It's a trend these days, to make a lame political statement with a movie instead of trying to make a good movie. Even if a theme of a movie has absolutely nothing to do with this.
It's frankly quite disgusting, and I just recommend everybody not to buy tickets or dvd releases of such products, so they stop making money on this asswater.

Hollywood makes their money of off trends and fads. It is a safe bet and lot of people will enjoy watching it rather than making some odd boycott over it.

Is it bottom barrel pandering, you betcha...but they wouldn't call it pandering if a large enough group of people didn't fall for it.

A better use of energy would be to find ways to make money off of these people b/c they are clearly willing to give it away to watch 2 hours of fluff and nostalgia.
