Boo Hoo it's all so hard!

To all the complainers out there saying it's too hard - GET OVER IT!

It's called skill and finding out how to do things properly. If everything is too easy you all are going to complain how boring the game is and you'll be right!

easy = BORING

To the Devs: I understand that you will be trying to make this game for "EVERYONE" but please don't dumb it down to the point where you can master everything in a day.

I like a challenge and I'm sure there are lot's of us out there.

This world of "instant everything"

I expect you haven't had to deal with a hacker yet, Highest gear in the lands and shields no gun can take down! Most of the stories are due to those people, There is a huge learning gap but I'd never claim it to be hard, I'd claim it to be close to dark souls :p

The game takes practice which is great. It has a learning curve. Each ship feels and handles differently and that's great.

I and would strongly recommend a good PC set up such as HOTAS joystick and TrackIR to make the most of it...

And before anyone takes offence (as they have before), I do appreciate that not everyone can afford or is willing to invest in this kit. However, these tools will make your flight controls easier than say, mouse and keyboard or X-Box controller. That's just a fact.

It's an amazing game, and would highly recommend players invest IMHO. If you are considering, hope this helps convince.

Any comparison to Dark souls is like the ultimate respect imo.

That game is one of the best modern games for getting the dificulty right. You go to a new area, it is like WTH how am I ever going to do this, but then, you study the map, you learn the enemies and you overcome it.

and once you know what you are doing it becomes.... maybe not easy but certainly doable.

The best thing about it is it is fair, you die becasue you screw up...

If ED can ever get the difficulty/skill/fairness level to darksouls then that will be a real win for FD imo

So far I think ED is mostly hard but fair, once people read the manual they have no excuse :)

I agree and I feel it's going to be as blunt as starting dark souls, Of course you quickly overcome the hard bit as you learn the game and suddenly it's not that bad.

HOWEVER, I lost a lot of moneys worth in a ship that I spent a lot of hours on and I got that massive "Dark souls" feeling. That's why I compare :p

I'm not just talking about the combat.

i dont want it easy but one laser, 1 vs 2 3 4 cobras how do you get anywhere in this game because i am confused :S

No one said you could win every fight, sometimes running away is the smart option. If it was an interdiction you could have got away. When you start you're in a small poorly armed ship, it makes sense not to stick around and find out what the other ships want.

You run, run as fast as you can, full pips to engines and the second your Frameshift Drive comes online, get the hell out of Dodge! We're just minnows at present so the NPC's are quite hard by comparison, but that's Elite, and it always has been thus!

Chin-up and stick with it, you'll be glad you did when you can vape-em to smithereens once you can afford some decent hardware. :)

Best of luck Commander!

I can't tell you how happy I am that you posted what I've been wanting to say for months - but esp today [redacted]
Thank you.

thanks guys i will stick with it dose anyone know of a gd vid or tread for trading so i can get my second laser ?

Just go to the Federal assistance location, shoot a few federal fighters - 500 credits a pop. You need about 5 of them to get a second laser. Make sure you are aligned as Eranin, unless you fancy taking on Sidewinders.

Hey. I agree with you that the game should be hard and not dumbed down at all. But there is no need to call people new to the forum 'whiners'.

I've seen a lot of people new to Elite come on here over the last few moths with ill conceived ideas about the game and then come around to the Elite way of thinking. Give them the space to do that.

The place for setting people straight is out in space. ;)

Glad we agree.

I'm not calling people 'new to the forum' whiners. I'm calling all the whiners, whiners.

There is a huge difference.
