So UAs come from *everywhere* outside of the shell? Or are sending something back to everwhere outside of the shell?

I genuinely can't understand why the last few pages have continued expanding on the idea that the UAs/UPs pointing away from Merope by virtue of the fact they actually point at it is somehow significant.

It's like arguing a coin that came up heads should be thought of as landing tails-down:

Logically accurate to a point; but utterly illogical in the realms of common sense.

Please take some virtual rep.

At first I was thinking he was wrong, but now I see his point. What he's saying is that they are breadcrumbs. Let's say there were 10 UPs in a line originally - each one communicating with the other. All of them are pointing at Merope because they're in a straight line, but if you move one (like the Fed convoys did), they'll still point at Merope but the other end just won't be pointing to it's original destination. If there are free floaters, they might be orientated in a straight line pointing at Merope, with the other end pointing at the system where the next UP is found. So if we find free floaters, you could follow them both to Merope and to wherever the breadcrumb line of free floaters points to.

Edit: That is speculation though. Until someone finds a free floater, there is no way to confirm this.

there is a strange bug with the asteroids belt in the Lave system.. i can't reach them..

the more i push forward the more it goes slowly.

what the quack ?

Is it because the asteroids are revolving around the star and supercruise is lowering your speed to much to keep up with them (like trying to reach that superfast moon around New Africa)?

is the white area make this look like barnard's loop for anyone else?
or the baranicle symbol?

If you are still looking in Spirograph Nebula I would suggest to change the effort towards Orion Nebula. It kinda fits the seven sisters myth. And angle works beter for it. Distance not so much but at this point who cares? I was trying to find unknow probe today and take it with me back there but without luck. I found many convoys but none with what I was looking for. All I have in the end of the day is bounty on my head for 1kk :/

and so i will never be able to reach those asteroids ?

if you don't believe me try it.. go to lave and take a ride on the impossible asteroids ! \o/ :D

But what we are saying is that it is already confirmed that this does not work. We have already confirmed this is the case and MB himself has said they are pointing at the planet.

He didn't say ''That's not all there is'' and he didn't say ''It 'could' be pointing at the planet''. He said it IS.

Yeah that's been there for me too. Also the the sizes don't match, like the bottom ones are something like 50% bigger, which seems odd if it's intended to be 1, 2, 3, 4. Which makes me think the lower numbers/icons indicate something different that the upper ones.

I don't know, not trying to say it isn't a sequence, it's just it seems odd if it is.

I mean if I were producing something that was intended to be done in sequence, I would have ordered the figures to show that, so clockwise round the sphere maybe starting top right. It just seems odd if the numbers do represent an order that you also wouldn't put the sphere quadrants in order.

Yep...

Now the question is: what exactly have we decoded so far?

And yep....

Also: MB confirms that the sonograph is a key...

What is the lock?

I know it sounds so obvious and trite, but the right questions often do.

If not a lock as in a physical thing, then a key to decode something else... what?

No, I agree with you - I was just trying to clarify the other person's post. It wasn't making sense to me so I had to attempt :D

Mitterand Hollow - ever go there? The moon revolves around the planet so quick, that you can't reach it by trying to catch up to it in SC. Instead, you have to wait for it to come to you. Try sitting in front of the path of the asteroid and reach it that way instead of trying to catch up to it.

If you were sending out probes from Merope to give a message to humans/spy on humans, what's the nearest place you'd find lots of humans? Maia?

gave up early i see

I wouldn't personally quantify the population of Maia as a lot. Why?

Player groups get attached to stations, why not petition there to be station communication? Limited forum but in game. Be nice to send updates of science and exploration as in game notes. Immersive. Mini canonn galnet.

This is definitely on my wish-list. Make an in-game browser that's directly linked to the forum.

Sorry if this has been checked before, can any cmdr who has honked at a UP just check in there inventory under data in case a sneaky data package has been transmitted to your ship. I know you would normally get a message on screen but worth a check.

Honked loads, I have the following, rechecked just now against my spreadsheet:

Aberrant Shield Pattern Analysis
Abnormal Compact Emission Data
Adaptive Encryptors Capture
Anomalous Bulk Scan Data
Anomalous FSD Telemetry
Atypical Disrupted Wake Echoes
Atypical Encryption Archives
Classified Scan Databanks
Classified Scan Fragment
Cracked Industrial Firmware
Datamined Wake Exceptions
Decoded Emission Data
Distorted Shield Cycle Recordings
Divergent Scan Data
Eccentric Hyperspace Trajectories
Exceptional Scrambled Emission Data
Inconsistent Shield Soak Analysis
Irregular Emission Data
Modified Consumer Firmware
Modified Embedded Firmware
Open Symmetric Keys
Peculiar Shield Frequency Data
Security Firmware Patch
Specialised Legacy Firmware
Strange Wake Solutions
Tagged Encryption Codes
Unexpected Emission Data
Unidentified Scan Archives
Untypical Shield Scans
Unusual Encrypted Files

Nothing in there out of the ordinary. :(

Nope. He said the pointing is deliberate. Not in which direction.
