you dont need to have it targeted. dont need to have your sensors on. the probe makes the sounds.
I know where NOT to look for unknown probes: Anywhere heavily frequented by players. Someone would have tripped over one by now. Since hiding them in some random bit of space would be futile, I'm going to head off to some of the nebulae on the other side of Barnard's Loop - seagull and jellyfish etc and see what turns up. Maybe stop at the loop on the way back.
I still think the probes are designed by humans, but probably not intended to communicate with humans. Maybe our lost relatives are still reaching outwards, rather than looking back inwards towards to bubble?
ok so, if you go to the big crater on merope, point 180 straight up, fly out a few hundred LY, then target the system right in front of you, you come to a system with an ammonia world too. There was nothing there yesterday though, no Probes. So I'm calling "right, it's Gamescom, we'd better activate the probes" shenanigans lmao
(maybe its too close or too far away. maybe 30ly is the sweet spot though)
You do realize that free-floaters have already been found?

But he is right, it is the same logic I followed, avoid Merope because is something was there it would have been found already. I'm looking for other systems to check and more ammonia worlds too, now we still have to find if this is a shell or not.

After an hour i just got mine, so yeah freefloat UPs are now a thing
yeah the spawn rates are very rare. Keep at it thoughWell I think that confirms the RNG hates me especially above all the other people it hates![]()
You DO need to have it targeted. You DO need to have your sensors on. And you DO need to be between it and Merope.
Also, for everyone.. Here is the entire transmission. 5:30 of it. It repeats after this.

True. If the probes are confined to Ammonia worlds it'd be hard for it to be a shell though. It'll be interesting to see what, if any, kind of pattern they follow.

Im thinking more as the filling inside the other shell that is 0-135LY from merope and within a certain amount of ls from any ammonia terristrial wrold it would seem, but it does need further investigation
