Ladies and Gents Merope is shining down into the large crater on 5c starting today. Been there all evening.

I also got jumped 2 KM above the crater by a convoy. 1 anaconda and 2 Pythons as escorts. Python commander said over comms to protect the lead ship at all costs and started shooting me instantly. I had to jump out so I could not confirm the cargo on the lead ship. I had just been bouncing my anaconda off the ground for 2 hours straight and didnt have enough shield or hull left to fight.

Thats the first time I have had a Convoy of any kind attack me while on the surface. Not sure if I have been lucky or that happens all the time. After repairing I came back and they were gone. I then got jumped by 4 pirates while looking into canyons. I have had that happen before. Just not a convoy.

Well. I almost had one. Circled the damn planet for 45 minutes. Had 2 signal sources, both were garbage. Then got an "Anomaly Detected. Threat 2". YES! So I hit my disengage.... I wasn't within 1Mm.... I'm going to bed. Mad.

So, Unknown Probes are found near ammonia worlds near a nebula surrounded by the UA.

I don't know how much of a leap this is but given the Thargoids are previously an ammonia based life form, this is very easy to speculate as them looking for Thargo-formable (what is their home world called?) planets to settle on in our galaxy.

Or they may have changed the physiology of Thargoids this time around to be not ammonia based and this could be another ammonia based alien species looking for new homes. They could also be a non-Thargoid ammonia based life form while Thargoids are still the same lore-wise.

Could we at least confirm the probes are actual probes looking for ammonia worlds now?

The only questions left in my head are why Merope and why point to Merope 5 C?

What do you think, too many assumptions or dwelling on the obvious?

We still can't confirm nor deny that Artefacts and/or Probes are related to Thargoids. I'd say let's not focus on that.

Just randomly found it while wandering around the Pleiades sorry. But I had a feeling it would be important one day, so I wrote it down :D If anyone knows where there is a searchable list of ammonia world's I'd love to hear it. I'm out at Heart and Soul, if anyone knows of an ammonia world within those nebulae please let me know.

Yeah, yeah, exactly!

However too obvious a coincidence right after Thargoids are officially mentioned in GalNet? However I agree best not to dwell on Thargoids particularly.

We can be, imho, almost sure the UP are looking for ammonia worlds. The alternative would be they are released from ammonia worlds which are already inhabited by their creators and while we can not yet land on those worlds as far as in game tech goes, lore-wise we certainly have the capacity to scan those worlds and see if anyone technologically advanced is living there or not.

We gotta figure out (or wait and see) what the deal is with Merope and M5C for this all to make sense.

yup, maybe the Artifact/Probe creators are looking for Ammonia worlds because they are hunting the Thargoids. Their mortal enemy, or something. "Thargoids last seen on Merope 5c, now spread out and search nearby ammonia worlds and find them".

Kind of not relevant for the moment, but it's something to think about

Been flying around a cheeky little ammonia world out in the NGC 6357 nebula for about... 3 hours now. Nothing here. It's very similar to the one found in the Pleiades. It's even inside the nebula gas. Space madness settling in...
