2.2 Reveal confirmed for gamescom

this all must be sacrasm! They must be kidding! They just have shown us a normal go to station and deliver cargo mission but with tourist instead o cargo! This can't be true, this all must be a joke...     we know how to go to another station! Why they are showing us this?
 
even on their promotional videos have terrible wait times for mission menus and stuff lol but no... the problem is on our end, right folks?

10 seconds wait to access a basic, rectangular menu with a low res thumbnail sized photo... lol

It might be helpful if you explained what you expected? Fit your ship with passenger cabins, take missions, drop them off at destination... If you are slow they will disembark without paying you...
VIPs need First class or Luxury cabins and have an entourage which fill passenger slots.

What did you expect?

Perhaps something that added new mechanics, such as interaction with NPCs using the new avatar stuff, rather than just re-using the (buggy) stuff we have now? Something more immersive than just driving missions forward with irritating popups to send you to another random destination? Voice acting? Perhaps tourism and the bulk transport might be better... might... <sigh>.

new mission that are same mission as always. passenger and not fruit cargo it's the same.

where are the news!?

where are the ship transport?!
where are the fast travel between system where we have our ships?!

is this the community request?! the passenger?!

Toursits not teleporting magicaly in your ship, taking them when in line from a place. Maybe taking the quest from station A, go and land in a little station in B and go to C passing trough D.
Having Ships that will assist you protecting tourists, having other players that take the mission with you for protect the tourists.
Tourists not teleporting out your ships when completing mission...

I guess he expected something that would warrant the 18 month delay on delivery... you know that "we want to do it properly and to the highest quality" kind of thing

as for me... i expect C grade stuff, which is exactly what we are getting... in about 2 and a half month lol

all that for the price of the full game, spread in small regurgitated content chunks dressed as new! run to the store folks! get your new menu text and a human shaped orange icons asap!

I'm liking that certain missions will be locked to the Beluga and Orca. I really want the "Diva Requests" to have forced them to work on fixing the 0H00M standard mission popups.

Until NPC's and players can walk around you are not going to see passengers walk on and off the ship. One step at a time.

October for 2.2 is worrying though, there is either a hell of a lot of content we don't know about or TBH I don't know what FD are doing anymore, it doesn't appear to be making a game though.

Yep, they said us they wanted to do it right. Wha they just shown us was all wrong.
 
My first reaction, if I'm honest, is disappointment. Deploying fighters seems a good step, but the passengers looks very disappointing. I'm not sure what I expected to be honest, but there needs to be something more with more zing. Mechanics sound a little different, but not enough to really add to the universe, or make it feel more filled with people. I think perhaps I was hoping for something a little more exciting for non trade-ships/large vessels. Deploying fighters is great for those ships, for everyone else, 2.2 does so far seem variation on implemented themes and some visual sprucing. Neither are bad, just - as I see it here (and I will stand corrected if there's more), it does broadly a little lack lustre. Engineers was better - the improvement to missions alone made ED feel big, before we talk about docking controls and of course, the Engineers, and could be enjoyed by all.

I had negative first reactions, I like being positive, but for me personally, not so thrilled. I'm not really seeing passengers really giving the game much, nor does the expected vessel. Oh well, I will watch on and hope I can turn that reaction around!

So the delay was for just... what? They are making a whole expansion for Tourist missions and they only changed Salves with Tourists and some minor things in UI?
They sai us they don't want to rush tourist missions... maybe there is more but for now it's like "    are you doing frontier?" All this hype for... this?

I feel sorry for you that after a 1 hour stream you can write off the whole update.

2.2 is Guardians, AKA Ship launched fighters. Passenger missions is only one facet of the expansion. The new map filters and route planner look like an "about time" improvement too :)
