Horizons climbing sloped settlement walls: posible or not...

Seen a couple of videos of srv climbing a sloped settlement wall. I looks like I need to perform exactly that action to get access to data points (which seem otherwise inaccessible).
But whatever I try to do, I just keep bumping off at the base of the sloped wall.

What is the thing I forget to do (or is it not possible (anymore) to climb sloped walls).

Thanks for your replies. Peter Pan

Fly, Peter, fly!

(sorry, couldn't resist!)

Some of them can actually be scanned from the ground, if you get close enough, and switch to the turret and look up. It's always worth doing a loop around to ensure there isn't one side that easier to scale. Otherwise, I'd advise 4 pips to Eng, try a diagonal route to reduce the gradient, boost may help you (or push you off the wall... :( ). Handbrake may help you stop sliding down but it probably won't help you get up.

Can you not jump assist with your thrusters ? This helps in some situations, but not too clear what the context is here.

Is it possible in your case to land the ship on the base? The last time I tried to do such a mission, I did just that. I was flying an FDL, possibly if you are in like an Anaconda there might simply not be enough room to land on the base. :D

I take a short run at the wall boost and pull the nose up and climb. I have used inside corners to act as a funnel and to help maintain forward momentum, seems momentum is the key. Also check the exit area for obsticles, those can be jumped some times but better not to make it more difficult than necessary.

Yep, normally use it the same way, also external corners sometimes a better case of a ramp.
The only thing when this doesn't work - really noticeable gravity. In some high-g cases I've heard reports that SRV climbs better when on reverse move.
