To all you player groups UA bombing places like Robigo and Sothis...

New meta. Pirate UAs to bomb stations. Pirate MAs to unbomb stations. Good day to be a pirate.

Sounds like an interesting job if the pay's right...

Ok again. I know its a kind of taboo but imagine the situation in RL.

Noone would say about terrorists: "They're cool, its a life mechanic, if you can do it, just do it, I like the dynamics of society."

They ARE terrorists (they have "reasons" too, don't they?). Their reasons are irrelevant, they'd always find "reasons" for what they want to do. However it's asocial behaviour.

It's not my problem if you mix up money with skill and it's not my problem if you played 1000 hours and only earned 10 mcr if you chose so.

The money of the Ceos truckers doesn't affect you, why do you try to affect them. The problem is just in your minds.

Can we please close this xth thread?

The problem is that UA bombers aren't terrorists, they are a part of the player conflict in this sandbox. Their actions aren't inflicting noticeable real life damage. You're confusing in-game consequence and real world consequence. Not to mention that at least these bombers aren't actually killing people.

Calling the UA bombers names such as "terrorist" "griefer" "children" "morons" all of which I've read on this forum is just an example of how short sighted, narrow minded, intolerant and just downright mean the Sothis/Ceos truckers can be. Between this and the original complaining about the 2.1 NPC's (mostly fueled by the trader/hauler demographic), I've actually been feeling the siren call of the non-consensual PvP side of things for the first time since I started playing ED.

You forgot "childish".

I'm not sure if I have any real skin in this game. I've been playing Elite for not quite 3 weeks, now. I was advised a couple of weeks after I started to check out Ceos/Sothis, to help me get a leg up into the game. I took my trusty Hauler and headed out there from the other side of the bubble. So many jumps... anyway, I get there, I run a few missions, I'm feeling pretty positive, and I get my faction up a bit to be offered what seemed to me to be an absolutely immense payout of just shy of 3mil to make a 400ish ly jump back into the bubble. I take it, I complete my haul, then I get sidetracked with planetary landings in & around the system I hauled to. A few days pass, then I wonder, hmm, can I return to Ceos & maybe do that again?

Guess not. Glad I wasn't terribly invested in it, but this whole fracas just seems blatantly petty. But, again, I'm a newbie. I haven't been playing the game long enough to have a vast understanding of how the BGS works, how it can be affected positively/negatively and what might result from such manipulations, how fast someone 'should' be making money, how easily someone 'should' be able to upgrade their ships. Note: the 'should' being in parentheses is my way of saying two things at once... a legitimate 'should' due to my lack of knowledge as to if someone doing either fast actually IS damaging to the game (or someone else's way of playing it), or whether it's a very smarmy 'should' because it's just a group of someones determined that their opinion is The Right And Correct Way.

I dunno. I'm still trying to figure the game itself out, much less the player dynamics that help shape it. I just have to say that this whole attack on Ceos/Sothis (and I guess Robigo? but that was before my time) screams 'petty bully'. I hope I'm wrong. I have to play in the same universe as those people, and I absolutely detest bullies.

Here's the thing, those of you that say "my gameplay doesn't affect yours so we you doing this", what if I had been supporting Deep Space Clan or Sirius Corp? Those factions got kicked out of Ceos (admittedly Sirius is now back, but beside the point). You guys that just randomly take missions could have affected my gameplay by doing this.

I suggested this to someone on a Facebook group and they told me that I should have either done more, or just go find another faction in another system to support. Can you see the hypocrisy? You're game does affect us regardless of what you do. It's a shared universe across all 3 platforms and through all three play styles, open, private and solo.

Seriously, though... if one of you truckers doesn't give me a SITREP soon, I'm going to turn this ship around and go home.

Whiskey Tango Foxtrot, truckers!!!! What's the status out there?!

Do you      ers want help or not?!

CMDR Vin Delanos...I don't think these people want help. I think they prefer to claim victim status and race around in circles howling at the moon until sky daddy (Fdev) comes and saves them.

And on that note, say we were to go out there and render some assistance...shouldn't there be some filthy lucre involved? I don't know about you, but I'm no charity:)

You're right, CMDR Jarred Dumas

Slavery pays well, I hear. Of course... I've only "heard" that, because I have yet to see any offers ;)

How much will you pay me?

I have to be honest im a fan of ceos / sothis and i know i could help counter it with a big ma drive but the fact is i just dont like it that much.

Its a good cash boost and a pretty chilled game time but i can make money elsewhere and exploring is even more chilled.

The fact is the mechanics are there to counter the ua bombing so stop whinging and use them. The traffic report in sothis says there were over 4 thlousand players in 24 hours. If all those players brought 2 ma's well yeah..... There would be no thread.

But then we'd have to take reaponsibility and not just moan on the forums so that wouldnt do.

Anyway i've got to go there's some unknown facts about 2.2 i need assume are bad and complain about...

No, HERE's the "thing". Act like vermin, get called out as vermin and now get all salty about it. To use a phrase more often quoted from the other side of the argument.. "Your tears are delicious."

Please point me to where I am salty in that post?

The problem here is that you assume there is some sort of universally accepted standard of what constitutes as non-vermin behavior, which is close to none in a sandbox game.
