To all you player groups UA bombing places like Robigo and Sothis...

I don't get why people are upset with UA bombing. The long-haul trading mission at Sothis were still working fine the last time I checked. Does the UA bombing specifically affect the smuggling missions or something? If so, then just find another way of making money, it's not like smuggling is the only way you can progress in the game.

/mod hat off

you have an interesting definition of grieving.

didn't you bring medicines to sothis, when it was in outbreak state and worked on ending it? why did you spoil my fun of farming pharmaceutical isolators there?

did you run missions for any other faction than sirius corporation there? i invested serious time to get allied with sirius corporation, and you kicked them from controlling the systems, grieving my faction and spoiling my fun...

seriously?

we are playing in a shared galaxy. we should embrace all activities of all players, because it is part of what makes this a great game.

don't like it? get organised and bring meta alloys. don't like a lockdown? go bounty hunting. etc.

or move on.

I know your a Mod and I am sorry but you made our point for us. Regardless as to the current power struggle between factions in the station you will still be able to continue to gain rep at the same rate you were before. However the only thing that can stop anyone from gaining Rep is the shutting down of the mission boards.

Also I am all for activities in our Galaxy/Game but this game has alot of grounding in actual science and geo political structure that is similar to our human histories. See Romans for Empire, See and odd mix between Marxist and hippies for the Alliance, and See capitalistic democracy in the Fed. In none of those societies or society in general do crimes go unpunished.

Here in this game there is no structure in place for crimes other than a fine. Most of those things such as acts of destruction and the interruptions in normal game play for the BGS do those crimes differentiate in severity. Murder equals one or less smuggling crimes and UA bombings carry almost no penalty especially if you can go silent running.

3 to 5 people proudly interrupt all activities and safety for people in a location and the only people who can do anything about it are the pilots themselves. Those pilots when then get fined for interdicting and killing them. Those pilots would have to be criminals themselves to fight back. If you are mining or trading and you try to sell something illegal or are caught with something illegal you get hit with huge fines and in some cases fail missions. Depending on what it is the police might just show up and blow you away. Not UA bombing though. At best I got a 20k fine for having 4 of them in my hold when I went in and fueled up. I was still allowed in the station and I paid the fine got fuel and left.

Thats why this is an exploit. The Crimes that can be committed with these items do not carry the complimentary punishment If it did, then this issue would have been taken care of already by the BGS and local defense force alone.

My buddy got scannds delivering them to Ceos. He got a 3.9 mil fine for 18. He got scanned again later on for same amount and was then wanted.

What gets me, is that when Saunders Dive, HQ of EXO who are the largest player group on xbox was uaed, you didn't see then crying all hell on here. They got on with it and fixwe it. Countless stations have been ua bombed, and no one has batted an eyelid, until it affected them that is.

Why dont you start UA bombing all the Engineers that have commodities markets. Or do you think that too many people might get mad about that? Go for it and ruin everyone hours of grinding to get Materials. You will hear the same thing. UA bomb the founders world or the Elite Stations.

The Saunders Dive location wasnt a primary hub for anyone other than EXO. It was one location for one player group. It affected nobody else anywhere. Thats why no one batted and eyelid. The UA bombing to stop the discounted ships did nothing to anybody. They had to shift over one star to the left 4ly away and they got the same deals.

It's a ridiculous mechanic. I've sacrificed my last 2 days of play time trying to fix something I have no vested interest in, just because. There's no in game logic for this to still be happening after all this time. It really highlights the flaws in the "S" of BGS. The effect of UA's is common knowledge now. The fact that stations are still buying them in bulk is broken.

Because people are greedy. Illegal goods are highly sought after regardless of how dangerous they are.

You can't ua bomb something that doesn't have a black market.

I just dont understand why stations are buying unknown alien artefacts that cripple their own station services.
The BGS backstory is nearly as bad as some pvp groups roleplay

You can still affected a system's BGS without the mission board by attacking or defending the system.

If you think that UA bombing is an inconsequential way or unfair way of affecting other players, you should be complaining about the mode system first.

This^

Solo and private affecting my gameplay. Mac and PC users affecting my gameplay. It doesn't bother me in the slightest, it makes the galaxy feel more alive, but when you start complaining of daft mechanics, there's a whole load of others that beat a WMD

Exactly. They can add pretty new stations and stellar bodies, but there's no word about fixing the huge background issues. Like stations buying things they know for certain will destroy their ability to function, NPC's demanding cargo you don't have, instancing issues, etc.

Black market.

The black market has to be operational to function. Buying something that will shut you down is bad for business. There's no reason for them to be interested in it, either.

It's not the station that buys them. It could be unscrupulous individual who runs the black market. The black market isn't run by station officials as it's illegal goods.

The problem here is that you assume there is some sort of universally accepted standard of what constitutes as non-vermin behavior, which is close to none in a sandbox game.

Nothing universally accepted, to be sure, but just because the game LETS you act like an a-hole doesn't mean you SHOULD. You get this, you're a pirate. If a player decides to fight you and it's you that ends up in the escape pod, that's all fair. If they make that choice and it's them drifting back to the nearest station that's fair too. If they surrender and you blow 'em up anyway that's not cool, right? Acting like vermin will get you CALLED vermin. It's perfectly ok if you do and accept that. It is a sandbox game after all. Just don't act all feelings-hurt and justified on the net when folks tell you that you ARE being an a-hole. You're not doing that. But others are calling out those who DO, and the a-holes objections to it and attempts to justify their actions are as salty-sweet as the ones they relish so much from their victims.

A black market is run by organized crime. Doing things like this is financial suicide.

When a station goes down, it goes into lockdown which prevents ant kind of cargo other than food or alloys being delivered. One could assume in these states, every canister gets scrutinised.

We aren't salty at all.

Again. This isn't about lockdown. This is about buying materials that are harmful to your business. It's a guarantee.

This is the equivalent of a mafia racket buying bombs that are going to blow up their point of operation on purpose. Then doing it again, and again, and again. Even when they learn what is causing it, they still allow it to happen. Again, and again, and again.

All people want is real consequences from what I can see. The crimes will sort themselves out and provide a more realistic environment. The UA bombing is so fake and it makes no sense. Not when you can get destroyed because you botched a parking job in a space station.

I got lit up a bunch when I first started because I didnt realize I was being timed to get out of the stations.

Also my GF also uses my account sometimes guys so be nice to her if you can. She is mad because her last friend got grieved off of the game not too long ago and I am the only one she will play with now. I like this game so if she stops playing then needless to say I will have to stop playing. [???]

I did tell her she cant say those kinds of things on forums so there shouldn't be any more of that. She just wants to be ready for the Thargoids or whatever comes out of those barnacles.

We have similar view points on these types of topics but then again she just mined quiet a bit in Eve So the big struggles and fights never affected her.
