Hi all, I'd like to see some variants released for Imperial ships, or at least 1 new ship, that fits on medium pads.
I propose a variant Clipper, with a more militant purpose, designed to act as a light carrier, with a fighter bay, perhaps whilst granting the basic clipper the ability to act as a liner (with luxury cabins)
or, allow the current clipper to carry fighters and make a luxury liner variant. I'd suggest upgrading the existing Clipper the freedom to do both, but that'd probably make the one ship just too good.
Alternatively, I'd like to see an Imperial ship that fits on the medium landing pad. Perhaps with retracting engine nacelles. I've suggested in the past making such a ship a Clipper variant, but now I think it's better to go with an entirely new architecture, with lines that find the middle-ground between Courier and Clipper. Slender, conical nose, but side by side seating. I wouldn't suggest too much armament, 3 or 4 class 2 weapons, or 2 class 2 and 1 class 3. Internals most similar to the Asp X.
Finally, I'd like to see a slightly smaller, short-body variant of the Cutter, built for exploration, having the shorter fuselage shown in the concept art, and the simplified engine arrangement, but at the cost of it's class 4 hardpoint (moving one of it's class 3 hardpoints to the belly) Better lateral thrusters allow it to land in high-g worlds, but agility is a secondary quality. Optional internal space would be most similar to a type 9. Properly fitted, it would have greatest jump range in the game, but would be expensive.
