Convoy Signal Source - What is its porpouse?

Hello, i've been doing piracy for quite a while , and i can say that in the last mounth i did more than 35 M in sporadic gameplays... .but Theres something that I still don't understand quite well.

What are Convoys SS for? I know they can have UPs and UAs in especifc places... But I mean they are supposed to be places where you can pirate and made a BIG battle and have some HUGE reward for this endeavor.... But every time I step in one of those i get ridculous amount of cargo for the amount of firepower that they pack in....

In this example:

We Can see 3 ANACODAS and 3 Vultures Guarding a T-9

And the cargo in its hold is shamely 150-200 K in Commodities...

Hell I can get more than it in T-6 around the bubble transporting Low temp Diamonds or some rare commodities...

I Freighter like this should have a reason for this MUCH firepower around him... I mean his cargo should be way more impressive...

Right now i don't have any will to try and take these... (remember that is not only those ships but security forces)

One possible solution should be to increase the amount of cargo of this ship maybe go 10x Higher... 2M should be enough for a costly fight against a well armed enemy...

I do have a wake scaner , but per 2.1 I think ships don't get separated when wake scaned, might be wrong though

Short answer is; If you have a mission to Pirate X units of XYZ the convoys will usually be stocking those commodities in additional to their own, so the Hafnium etc. is an added bonus to sell.
Doesn't have to be Threat 4 Convoys however

They are also the only place to get some commodities such as the Hafnium, but I have never seen that specifically requested anywhere

You need to be flying the Dolphin to answer that question, but unfortunately that ship isn't in-game yet.

Or, if you're on the lookout for Chemical Manipulators, the convoy would be a good thing to strike. Especially if it's in an Anarchy system and no ship cares what happens to the others.

And i think you always seem to get one data source for engineers even if you dont shoot.

Nice Vid.. but still think they pay way to low... I mean i would spect to get 300-500K on an assault for those ships

I Get between 1/6M per Miner i found in some especific system filled with low temp Diamonds...

Wouldnt hurt to have some variety of cargo tough!
