I believe I have found two records in one find.
"Single ring with the largest outer radius: 11,304,739"
"The widest single ring: 10,859,643"

System: Eoch Proo MF-L d9-115 (It, by default, takes you to 1151/1150, which is wrong.)
Location: ABC 2

http://prnt.sc/c8fs2k

Coming in to knock out a double record-breaker.

Heaviest F Type Star:
Rho Cassiopeiae A, weighing in at 20 solar masses! (previous record: 4.6602)
Largest F Type Star: You guessed it, Rho Cassiopeiae A, at a whopping 450 solar radius! (previous record: 225.5548)

CMDR name: turkwinif
Records: Heaviest F Type Star, Largest F Type Star
System Name: Rho Cassiopeiae
Body Name: Rho Cassiopeiae A
Discovered: 10-Apr-3302
Ship Type: Anaconda
Ship Name: Tina

I hate you right now. Rho Cas is my favorite star, and I was planning a long expedition, hoping to be the first to discover it. And now I'm not. I don't suppose you left any bodies for me to put my name on, did you?

I'm actually legitimately depressed by this, because I'd planned this trip out a year ago, but I couldn't get the funds for a large enough jump range ship to get out there (it's pretty sparsely populated) until Engineers gave me better jump range. I figured someone may have already gotten it, but I expected to find that out by getting there, not having my dreams crushed before I even set out! And to know that if I had set out when I first wanted to, I would be first discoverer.

Man, this day sucks. [cry]

I'm sorry :(

I found out about Rho Cas in the Formidine Rift thread. They thought it may be important since it was a named and hard to reach system in/near the Rift. Some thought that it would be impossible to reach it until the engineers update, but that just motivated me more to find a route. I actually had to do Robigo runs once I found a route just to afford an Anny to get there, since it was literally the only ship with a high enough jump range to make it.

It is quite a sight to see, and the journey is worth it. Don't rush it. I did tag everything in the system, but I left a lot of surrounding systems untouched.

Rho Cas has quickly become one of my favorite stars, too, just from it's sheer size, rarity, fluctuations, and the mass it's losing every year is astonishing.

I hope that you decide to continue with your expedition!

Sorry Kerman, seems like I've beaten the records you posted earlier. Not sure if it's the largest found since the last update of the record book, but it's by far the largest as of the last update to it, beating a whopping 3 records.

CMDR: Draco25240
Ship: PFS Asylum Express
Ship type: Imperial Eagle
Discovery info: Discovered by CMDR Draco25240 on one of the last days of his 8 months long journey to cross the galaxy in his Imperial Eagle, this behemoth of a ring was found around a T-type brown dwarf, orbiting a massive F-type hypergiant star. Although hardly visible due to the low density of asteroids in the ring, this ring stretches out to an impressive 0.15 AU out from the parent "star", making it easy to fly into it at high speed by accident if you're not careful. Approach with caution.

Single ring with the largest outer radius:
Dryao Aowsy LM-W e1-1469 5 A ring, with an outer radius of 22,625,258 km (2.42x as large the one in the record book)

Heaviest single ring:
Dryao Aowsy LM-W e1-1469 5 A ring, with a mass of 29,851,444,576,256.0 MT (3.36x as massive the one in the record book)

Widest single ring:

Dryao Aowsy LM-W e1-1469 5 A ring, with a width of 16,976,443 km (1.93x as wide as the one in the record book)

Impressive :D, but from what I understand, the record I posted was planetary rings. I don't think there is a record for star rings...but I may be wrong.

High metal content with the greatest radius

High metal content with the greatest radius. 22,104 km, beating the previous record holder by 243 km. Found it while on my very long return trip from Beagle Point.

Got some here Draco. Single ring with a mass of 143,623,387,611,136 MT. When you say single ring are you referring to the fact that the star has a single ring or the stats of the ring itself?

Also i suspect the largest gap between neighboring rings, the gap between the outer edge of B ring and the inner edge of C ring is 15,184,579 kilometers.

C ring with an outer radius of 25,006,296 kilometers.

You beat me in width, it's only 10 million klms wide.

Here's a screenshot from around 450ls out.

You can see the huge gap between the B and C rings, it is a stellar ring but you can barely see the star, just the tiny A and B rings and the huge C ring.

Here's the System image with the ring details;

This is CMDR Varonica of the sturdy ship Crime and Glory. Have fun exploring people.

Oh yes, there are three planets in orbit between the B ring and C ring.

Not sure how the records work with systems with single rings and mutliple rings, do these belong in two different sections? If so you probably still hold those records

Alright, in case rings around brown dwarf stars don't count, I just ran into a Class III Gas Giant that had a 22,901,576 km radius planetary ring around it. Not as large as the brown dwarf above if it counts, but the width of the ring however is a whopping 22,333,545 km!!! Mass is unknown, haven't got a detailed surface scanner on me right now, but will be a lot when I get around to scanning it. Will make another post with the planet name and properly claim it when I've reached civilization and tagged it in a week or two.

My explorations in the Scutum-Sagittarius Conflux and the Formidine Rift have yielded two potential record-breakers:
CMDR: Edelgard von Rhein
ship type: Anaconda
ship name: Exelion
date first discovered: 27th August 3302
SMALLEST SEPARATION BETWEEN TWO CONSECUTIVE RINGS: EEPHAILLS SG-C C1-50 1 A RING TO B RING
SEPARATION: 12KM
date first discovered: 13th September 3302
TERRAFORMABLE WATER WORLD WITH THE MOST MOONS: EAFOTS GI-B D13-28 A 11
NUMBER OF MOONS: 5

I found a peculiar system feature just now during the Galactic Nebula Expedition. While there's no category for it at the moment, I'd say it's unusual enough to warrant a new category.

Water-based Giant with the most gaseous moons:
Traikeou HT-H d10-27 3
Number of gaseous moons: 4 (3 class 1, one ammonia dwarf. all ringed)

http://imgur.com/a/iImuh

Discovered by: CMDR DD-dreamer
Ship: Asp Explorer
Ship name: Tomorrow
Discovery date: 17th september 3302

A similar category would, of course, be introduced for all other gaseous planets.

Hello everybody,
CMDR John Tinker
Ship: AspEx
System: Pru Theia FI-A d14-0
Date discovered: 11-09-3302
Class I Giant with the longest orbital period - 1, 017, 020.6 D
The whole system is interesting as it contains Water World and 4 last planets are more than 20k Ls from the star.

i'm sorry. i tried adding the image to the previous thread but somehow i failed. i now uploaded it to inara and i'm putting the link here

"Largest Herbig Ae/Be Protostar" 0.9557
Synookua AA-A h8
link to image: http://inara.cz/gallery/0/17399
It didn't work because you messed up the code for image embedding ;) For bbcode (what the forum uses) it's supposed to be
. Also, the URL has to point to the image itself, not just the page it's on (right click image, and copy the image link). In your case, the correct URL to put in the code would be http://inara.cz/data/gallery/17/17399x1607.jpg

Tried my best, but I can't find the current record for closest planet to the main star, but I'd like to propose this one:

CMDR Pete
Ship: ASP Explorer
Closest planet to the main star: NYEAJEOU WU-G D10-8 A 1
Distance of 0.64LS
