Is it possible to change your CMDR name?

I'm posting here because I didn't see an off-topic board in the main section of the Elite Dangerous forums. Other languages like French and German seem to have it

anyway, back on the matter at hand: Is is possible to change your CMDR name or to ticket support to do it? Back when I started playing I chose a really, really, reaaaaalllly dumb name and I'd like to change it.

Before anyone asks, I'm not starting another CMDR. I sunk >200 hours into this one and I'm sticking to it.

If name change is impossible/not allowed, oh well. too bad.

I'm not sure if it can be done, but in any case you will have to contact support about it.

Support will change your CMDR name, there is a section about it on the support site. Just if you change it too frequently they lock it.

On the forums: last time I saw this question come up, it was recommended to PM Brett C.

Yes!! Can't find the thread now, but it was Mr. Brett C., that replied to me that it's totally doable, but usually only once and with a short description from your side of why you're willing to do so. Many people PM'd me that they have successfully done it already in the past.
