Packhound Missiles

I would really like to get Packhound missiles to build an overpowered and unbalanced heat-meta Cutter,

however to pledge and have to wait 4 weeks to get them is a bit much.

Recently I have heard via Sandro Sammarco's recent comments that Frontier are all about removing the barrier to entry,

Waiting 3 weeks and then participating in week 4 of Powerplay is a bit too much of a barrier of entry, can we get this looked into for gameplay reasons?

Another insta gratification request. Some people will like this, others won't.

Reminds me of one insta max everything server for a mmorpg i used to play. It worked for a while, until people got bored.

The OP is trolling, but in that context he brings up a couple good points:

1: Packhounds are great FOTM meta with the current build.

2: Unless you want a PvP meta build, why bother with PP at all?

The second point illustrates the bigger issue IMO. Virtually all MMOs have optimized fotm builds.....it happens.

The issue to me is that one PP faction reigns king. Rendered more absurd is that PP is so poorly implenented to begin with.

What you're saying would make sense if the powerplay weapons were an upgrade to regular weapons. They are not.

You guys got me, I was trolling :)

but even though it is a troll the point is still valid

Edit: My point raised was regarding the unbalance of Heat in PVP and a comment on the "barrier of entry" being motivation for the current hot topic (that shalt not be named)

I think it's a result of Fdev learning after the Engineers 2.1 release.

Pre-engineers, Fdev reps would occasionally comment in threads asking, "what do you mean by grind?"

Then, after Engineers dropped and Fdev forgot to test the time/reward and so this video happened
along with a thread with the same tone that went on for quite a while.
Don't look at it in a vaccum, basically. (Unless you are reading from space, then it's hard not too).

Respecting player time is going to be at the heart of their design philosophy after that feedback. Powerplay was implemented before they had that realization. Since PP update is low on the dev list, it may be a while until they catch up.

Can't tell if this is a troll-post or not, but if it is - hat's off to you sir!

respecting player time is nonsense casual drivel.

The idea that there should be things that take months of time to accomplish is completely fitting a game that is meant to span the better part of a decade, if not longer. Most of the content wont even be available in the game till year 4 or 5 after launch date.

There is no reason why everything that can be done in the game needs to be fast tracked so that it takes an inconsequential amount of time and to devalue credits so that it doesn't matter how much it costs, you can make millions in an evening to afford it.

The fact that something is expensive or takes a long time to accomplish wouldn't be a big deal if the activity being done was actually entertaining. The solution that FD is choosing is a cop-out. They're not fixing the problem, they're circumventing it. Like so many other things that have been circumvented rather than solutioned.

So many diametrically opposed player groups marketed the same game. The arguing will never end until a better alternative for that particular player group comes out that doesn't have an identity crisis about being true to what it wants to really be.

we get it , we get it, your making a sarcastic point about insta gratification , well at least i do ,

Not completely. There needs to be a sensible time investment in the game, but it shouldn´t be a complete grind like for example PP.
