What that also does is nullify any of the balancing mechanics of your combat ship. Quite simply, its travel restrictions (a core element of the games balancing design) is 100% thrown in the bin. If that's the case, then why have different ships bother with different jump ranges in the first place?
All true, but personally for me the biggest downer is the impact on the atmosphere of the game - what the hell, I'm playing a game where I can magic up a Faulcon DeLacy Anaconda at will? I thought I was playing flaming Elite!!!
For people new to the game, or Elite in general, who may move on in a month or two this will be less of a problem, but for people who are passionate about the Elite legacy and its principles, and are inspired by what David Braben has to say on those things........ its proving something of a hurdle.
