I just love how these forums explode every single time FD tentatively announce any kind of update feature. I've honestly never seen anything quite like it. Yes, FD have made mistakes in some of their updates - mostly when adding new features that nobody expected and when turning promising concepts into sub par executions. Their improvements over the core game however have always been very good.
But lately... it's like it's just become fashionable to tear FD a new one for daring to add even so much as an extra pixel into their own game. It's becoming a little over the top.

I can think of so many better things to get worked up over. This is a non issue.
It's not, as has been explained countless times, informatively and reasonably. May not be an issue for you, that's utterly reasonable, but it is an issue for a lot of Elite players from all ranges and walks of life. That's evident in the amount of comments and how they explain the issue, which has been very rational and logical. If those points aren't a problem, it is a non-issue, but only for the individual.
Worth keeping in mind. Assumptions, binary groupings are just not going to be helpful. Not everyone who is against insta-teleport agrees. It's not black and white.
This thread isn't a bad idea, certainly no one suggesting people can't like the idea of insta-ships. The title is really, really, bad though. No one is bashing the Devs. That sort of loaded assumption/accusation doesn't do anyone any good. It offended me. Made me feel people just aren't either reading the posts, or looking to empthaise. You don't have to sympathise, but empathy and reason should allow people to see this isn't about bashing anyone.
The only people who I'd see at fault are people who are dishonest, sitting in a "camp" for the sake of a better term to either troll or to follow the herd. Anyone with an honest, considered opinion on Elite is a friend to the development.

If the devs are going to ignore ~75% of the player base (judging from the many polls) on wanting the feature to at least be believable and not just "space magic" - people on the internet being people on the internet - that's the kind of reaction that you can expect.
I propose to make a planetary referendum by email concerning the instant transfer
