Modding Fuelscoops?

Would you like moddable Fuelscoops?

So I've been wondering about this for a long while: are there any mods for Fuelscoops? I assume not because I have yet to hear about them.
Which throws the next question, why aren't there?

We can mod pretty much every screw of our ships now, except these things, and maybe the scanners, but that's likely because they're crap to begin with as in all ranks being the exact same they were before just 500m more range each time, with the exploration scanners being the exception, there's the pricing for the middle one just stupid for it's puny more range.

I was back before 2.1 actually expecting these to become moddable too given we can +45% range our FSD's, so why not the Fuelscoops too?


So is there anyone else who'd like to tweak their scoops or am I alone on this one? : /
 
I'm being told that instant transfer would make this irrelevant, so I imagine you're alone for the most part. [hehe]

I voted for don't care either way. The best one you can get for any are already really good as is. Some ships are down to, what, 20 seconds to fill?
 
i would really love to mod fuelscoop. i'm a fan of the dbe for strictly emotional reasons, and - one of its weaknesses is fuelscoop speed.
 
Aren't there still undiscovered engineers?

I really hope we'll see some engineers for other stuff (mining stuff, fuel scoops etc)
 
A modified fuel scoop to scoop from colder stars or gas giants at the cost of efficiency would be an interesting modification!
 
I really really want to be able to mod a fuel scoop into my fuel tank. Even if it underperforms and forces me to carry less fuel it would free up internal space to have even more cool gadgets inside my imp courier.
 
You Human's seem to have a massive appendage enlargement for travelling vast amounts of space in the quickest time possible these days. Sighs.
The female of the species excluded, of course.

I'm not 100% sure but i think to remember, that in the 2.1 beta there were blueprints for modding the fuelscoop.
There also were much more mods like the cargoracks (but they.didn't made sense :D) and a few others we didn't got in the final version.
But i thought, just wait for the missing engineers and let us have a look at their blueprints before coming up with this ;)

In the 2.1 beta there was weight added to the fuelscoops, this was part of some of the mods. But since they decided to let the fuelscoops weightless (thank you frontier, really!!!) I think there wasn't enough room left for modding. Better heatmanagement as positive effect and the negative effect?.......i think it was more weight but what would you use now?

I'm not that concerned about it, but given the other mods, sure, might as well. It could help make a couple of the ships a bit less pathetic at exploring.

Granted, I run a budget one (as in 3A) in my ASPX because the alternative would be losing 48t cargo for a 6A.

I just thought of a boring like 40% more rate xD

I'd take weight for them if they'd get good mods.
I'd take them weightless too if they get mods at all :p
 
I am totally up for being able to modd anything.
I can imagine a tradeoff for larger amounts of scooped fuel per second,
generating excess heat.
