Possible. But I'm more inclined to believe it is not a fake as much as it is, as people keep saying, a 'Red Herring'. People scrambling for narcotics over something that was never meant to be taken seriously.

However I had a chat with the CMDR who found CMDR Kohl. He was genuine, but he said, and I agree, that CMDR Kohl could have been a fake CMDR, but how can we know it for sure?
Anyway it's what we have for now. I was the first tho write on the FP "unconfirmed". But I put it there the same for everyone to catch up.
Let's see what happens at 21:00.
I suggest enjoying the ride, fake or not. It's a game after all.

No offence mate, but how is your group benefitting anyone? You are only hindering peoples enjoyment of the game at this stage, and I hope that FD freeze your accounts.

No idea, I'm not really commenting on that.
I'm not saying there isn't a CMDR Logan Kohl, more the one in the video is fake.
And likely that's the same one that has been seen various times in open.
Whether ther message to the inbox is fake no idea, I have no reason to belive it's fake at this time. The only weird thing I see is only a few people seem to have it.
I don't begrudge them their place in the galaxy. I just wish the fun in their pursuits weren't so one-sided. PvP should be fun and engaging for everyone, instead it isn't because anything but the optimum, meta pvp builds will lose every fight. The balance isn't quite there yet.

Regardless of everything else, this is the one thing that doesn't bother me. Kohl was never going to mail every commander in the game, or even the system. Encounters have never worked like that in this game. I think they SHOULD work like that, but they currently don't.
I don't know if it's a fake or not... but the clue reminds me of the old riddle:
