Dear FD. The hunt begins on the 28th - but ends a few hours later

I don't mind dying within this game. Because it is stil a game
I do mind dying because of [REDACTED]. His only goal is to do everything a normal player absolutly will not do. (this happened about a week ago)

This is why i Combat logged on his Asp! I admit it, I combat logged on [REDACTED].
This was NOT! pirating. This was NOT! Powerplay. This was, as usual, getting in other peoples way!

For this clip all he got was a 9.000 total credit bounty! REALLY?
The rebuy on this T-9 must be atleast 6.000.000 credits.

I am so dissapointed in FD right now. Today nothing happened to me. I did not even see mister Kohl show up. But i saw his ASP blown out of the sky by a psycho killer who can do what he wants!
This is so unfair!

Dear fd,
Please do something about this. Make him feel the pain of killing to! Not just me but every cmdr he killed
Because in the future i WILL combat log on him and his friends again... and again... and again..

A verry dissapointed Leut
This hunt is over for me :(

Simple solution here - do not play in open until FD fixies crime/punishment...
And flying T9 in Open is really bad idea ;)

Very simple solution to this...stay in solo or private until they either fix the issue or nerf solo and private to force ye out...whichever comes first ^^

PvP isn't why I care about some parts of this being in Open.

Rubbish internet in my country means the chances of actually getting in the same instance as the RP characters is what shafts me...

I'd have more luck waiting an hour for an RNG UP spawn....

Apparently people could see a dozen people online in Cail. I went on in open and could only see myself for 30 mins...

yeah just saw the quote

To clarify.

There was an issue with the first phase of the hunt, this latest clue should help solve that.

Elements of the hunt will require you to be in open, but you will have multiple chances to get the clues yourself.

To be honest that's disappointing - guess I'll leave it then .. to FD please stop trying to get me to play with others .. thanks

The current system is just nuts. Just imagine what would happen in real life when economic damage is being caused by a random party; there would an increase of security to stop this from happening (think of the pirates near the coast of Somalia; a coalition was sent there to secure the area). Ingame barely anything happens and the PvP-players can just go on and on in the same system without the system security becoming an decent thread.

The current system of bounties has to change to make it more realistic. Make it a bounty you cant get rid of, and make sure it's applied in all systems of the superpower (so you get a bounty in all empire systems, or anything). Also make it that a killed player can place bounty on a wanted person for a x-duration which can be claimed over and over; (max 90% of rebuy value to avoid farming by friends).

Personally i hatePvP (long live Mobius \o/ ), but it needs to have a place in this game, though it needs to have proper risks / consequences attached to it.

now brace yourself for git-gud replies in 3...2...1...

OP was in a lawless system was he not? Isn't all this going on at some icy world near Maia?

Besides, combat loggers and griefers deserve each other so don't expect me to shed a tear.
I will play this game. in Mobius. SO no more going to CAIL (that's were i was)
Because this is how many players feel like about him. And by many i mean atleast 90%

Whilst I completely understand that intelligent responses may have to be confined to Open for obvious reasons (FDEV can't exactly force their way into Solo or Private groups to interact with players) the problem lies with the type of people who are interested in these mysteries.

From what I've seen (myself included) the type of people who love to investigate these mysteries mostly play on Private or Solo due to the hostile nature of Open whenever a specific location is discovered or announced. Griefing, gankers, "roleplayers" or however you want to call it will naturally be lurking in those areas because they find it entertaining.

The current game mechanics allow for this, so I don't blame the CMDR's that take it upon themselves to shoot everyone entering the system (even though I think it's not exactly sportsmanlike, but that's just my opinion). The problem is, when that particular type of player hangs out in Open, the other type of player who loves to get involved in these mysteries ends up very frustrated and unwilling to join Open, as it can be expected they're going to be met with a rather unfriendly welcome.

What may need to be implemented is some sort of harsher crime response/punishment only for systems mentioned in CG's or special events like this, to make random acts of violence more difficult to accomplish. This restriction would then be removed after the event is over, so the cutthroat nature of Open can continue. That lets the more reluctant players in Solo more of a chance to get involved in Open when Frontier forces their hand with events like this.

Of course, if I had it my way there would be an Open (PvP) and Open (PvE) like Mobius, but that's been debated for ages now!

I have only once attacked another player and that was during Beta (before the game went live) Now i have an almighty urge to fly to this "Event" in open and start shooting at everything !!!!

edit: I was pirated once where I fought back ... and then ran !!!

Here's to hoping proper punishment is added for crimes in-game (so murder in lawless Systems remains unpunished). And here's to hoping ALL combat loggers, including SDC and the OP are perma-banned from Open. Just as with five year olds: you don't get to play with the other kids if you can't accept the rules of the game. If you don't like them, go play a different game, cheating is naughty and makes an angel cry every time you do it.

What an utter crock of crap, do you even know how this game works? did you know the servers are CLOUD based, they run on the Amazon web services, it can never be truly a multiplayer experience, to play with your friends you have to privately matchmake and then all jump into the same instance within the system your in. This is the same as being in a private group, if anything you free up bandwidth, the NPC's which are being chased down and hunted in this event all live on the same database. it makes no difference open/ private / solo.
