Don't be suprised if the CG is not actually something you participate in but is what FD are using to give out this part of the clue so it's more readily readable by all players, my take forget trying to bring anything to it just decode the message, if they seemingly asked for fish its likely place holder like it was for engineers beta testing.

The time limit of 2,5 hours coincides with the decoded 3PM time of arrival
of the explorer.
That part i assume is in open, so the players can switch the ships.

I presume the 21:00 o'clock be the final stage then.

the cg is the alternative to decoding.
Either play decoer or hauler.

Because they can't join your solo game. They have to act like NPCs and the only way they can give everyone one a fair chance is in open. Grow up.

You could argue that some CMDRs PvPing just have the goal
of letting this CG/event not complete.
Have we had a single thing in the last months not complete
and got a result?
It is interaction though.

- and some d00d states "Open only"

Again: it's natural to doubt. Scepticism is fine, it's the groupmind that wins out here in the end. What we've seen is good enough for me.

I tend to believe that someone is not guilty until proved it without any doubt. Here many are doing the contrary: Shouting immediately "FAKE!" or "Guilty", despite many proofs are bering delivered. What I'm saying is that we should all be more "open minded". Until now, all the fakes we've seen in game, were very easy to spot, really.
And we always had ONLY ONE FAKE IMAGE or VIDEO. ONE. Not many.

In the exact moment I see two or more, from two different sources, I try to contact whoever produced them, then I tend to say that they are genuine.
And that's what I did here as well.

im done with this game, not going to debate this, strong letter being sent to MB and braben. im out. this game isnt meant for PVP. by forcing an event in open your making people play a game style they dont want to.

Mate, I was in open, and wasn't interdicted once. Even saw the red T-9. The sum total of contact with other players was a bit of a chat and three friends requests.

Open play isn't 'forcing' you into PvP. This was always likely to be an event with 'live' NPCs, which are impossible to put into your solo game. I know you are frustrated, but it's really not that big a deal.
