Totally understand, and I get why solo exists. But to totally get up in arms against FD decision on this is just so childish in my opinion (heaven forbid if I am entitled to one). Don't think you had time to change ship, well here's what I did, it's really novel, planned ahead and jumped in my cobra, why oh just because its a bit safer in open due to its tremendous speed we all had a weeks notice.
Kind of assumed that was what we were going by!
I don't want to steer this thread away from topic, but I think it's good to respond.
All of that sounds fine and dandy - add on some instant financial penalty and a suspension of your insurance for a week then I'd think it was approaching fair. Especially for the defenceless explorers that get taken out for lulz.
I'm not going to argue against your (and others) right to exist, I agree: it makes it more 'alive' and adds spice - but there's a definite sense of a lack of justice for the victims, even when one of you gets taken out.
But anyway - if a way can be found to keep you guys entertained whilst also appeasing the people who get set back hours of game time when you squash 'em, that'd be my ideal solution.
As an Xbox player in Solo, I have to fork out £5.99 to play in open. nice
Go to Cdkeys. You can get an annual gold subscription for £32. Considering you get 4 free games a month I don't know why anyone wouldn't have one even if they don't play anything that requires it.

Appreciate it, and there are some very good takes on that problematic,
namely the introduction of piracy ratings. Suggestions are there, implementation is not.
here's hopeing that frontier gives protection to the next clue delivering asp and not just let it get blown up

Yeah if you are going to have a standard time in game it would be best to use that.

If it helps UTC (game time) and GMT are essentially the same. It's just in the UK, we tend to use "GMT". It's historic and imperial.

No you really misread what I meant. I'm not scoffing at your small ship at all, like I said I still own a Sidey and last time I took it out I went bounty hunting in a haz res in it. I've even bought paints for it. Also the Courier is probably my favourite ship in the entire game to just fly. It's not about a ship being 'good enough' though it's about using them for diferent things. I don't care how 'good' a Sidey is, I can't ship 100 tons of cargo in one.
But I don't spend all of my game time in any one ship and this event is fast-paced. The point is there has simply been no time for people to do 700 LY round trips to change ships, so most people were flying what they had and in many cases that would have been long range, unarmed ships.

being in germany gmt+1.
There is a difference i guess.

As if introducing a third abbreviation for the same thing makes stuff easier...
Should make it impossible for them to rearm and repair at stations that arent pirate or lawless, that would keep them busy synthing ammo and hiding when they got to less than 50% hull or having to long haul somewhere remote to get fixed up and re-arm and stop them fragging so many n00bs.
