I'm sorry but I disagree with you.

Not all people 'complaning' about are doing it because of SDC or the 'open' stuff. I have been quite active the last days solving the first riddles and keep up / helping others. Now, knowing it is going to be in open, it happens that I can't just play it. I tried tonight, with a few people, I got disconnected every time I jumped in/out of SC because of the connection in this country. Every time I had to restart - rewing - replot - reboost - rejump - and travel the distance to wherever I was going just because the instance is full, the server is busy or because of [redacted].

Even if I want to, I just can't. Not to metion meeting a random cmdr from another country, hehe, I can't even see my fellow aussie friends in the same system if they have joined someone else's instance.

Open is my comfort zone, crowded open is unusable at the moment, at least for me.
Different topic but yeah some of that could come down to you optimizing your router settings. There was a thread on it a while back and I went from only being able to see a hand full of CMDRs at once to much larger numbers with less issues.

It would be nice if they had an app to help do that automatically or at least a note for new players to make the changes them selves.

Really?
In game time is two hours prior to my local time,
being in germany gmt+1.
There is a difference i guess.
UTC = GMT-1

NO - Germany is nominally GMT+1 but as its what we in UK call "British Summer Time" UK is currently GMT+1 so Germany will be GMT+2 - simple.

UTC=GMT for definate

Sadly yes. You're not the only one wound up by it, trust me. I am too.

Following instructions in mysteries like this shouldn't deliberately lead players in the wrong direction. It is the clues that should be 'lies', if one character is lying, not locations and times for the next puzzle piece.

Having said that, don't let it sour your taste on the whole thing. FD is learning when it comes to these things. This mystery will last a while yet, so some good bits could easily come along soon.

Don't get me wrong, I love this game. I'm not throwing my hands up and vowing to uninstall the moment I get home. The day isn't done yet, etc etc.

But given how that ended up there is no way you can call anything from the fake CG onwards anything but pointless busywork that served only to waste a lot of people's time. We already had clues pointing to 2100, why include an extra bit that led absolutely nowhere?

I really tried to help people out as best I could there and I think I'm justified in feeling a bit irked right now.

im still gonna says that our red hering is dillon

binarly pulsar is a bit far feched also he wants tobacco
so he might be saying false information till he gets his stuff

so im gonna go with an opposite logic here

a single star system with a main sequece star probably m type

and an ice planet with 34 longtitude istead latitude

If you come to Massagetae be prepared to face 2 PvP squads who are in "truce" and only killing other players. CMDR Delmonte just fallen a victim to this plague ;(

I think the "Pic Tok" clue was a red herring. Here in these messages we are told that Dillon never carries cargo and someone that wasn't hauling cargo would arrive at Apadamak at an unspecified time. Since we were already told that Granger doesn't carry cargo AND he hangs around Apadamak, we are left to conclude the two aforementioned clues (highlighted light-blue in my quote) were referring to Dillon. That means that Dillon followed the original directions all along - the only difference was he followed the time as denoted in the CG (which wasn't given in the initial clues).

I'm at McMullen Vision but there's nothing here, as others have pointed out. I'm tempted to take the Tobacco to Pic Tok and see if he's there. We will have to see. Otherwise, we'll have to strap in and wait for Granger in his White Cobra to give us the final clue at 21:00 UTC.

I agree about PIc Tok being a red herring: the CG text said "last seen in Pic Tok", but we knew he'd arrive in Apademak from yesterday's hints...
But we have to admit some confusion was unavoidable right now... really...

I've done that already, it is not the case. The submarine cables are to blame, not my router, and my ISP, not the router, but thanks for trying to help :)

I just have a problem with Dillon requesting we bring HIM tobacco to McMullen, when it's already been stated that Dillon *never* carries cargo...IS he the one that's lying about everything?

I actually kind of hope the binary pulsars ends up being the true hint. Sure it'll be hard to find a binary specifically because that doesn't show up in map filters and neutron stars are lumped under "other" with black holes, but at least the map filter will help a little bit.

If we have to search every M-class star in the area though, well...

Yes it is terrible game design. Don't change stuff you announced beforehand and then confuse people with new mini-puzzles and vague hints.

Many people won't read up on the new stuff if it's not clearly presented to every player in-game.

Nevertheless, as a relative noob, I've been very impressed with the cooperative solutions to the in-game riddles achieved by the players. Hasn't that been fun? o7 Canonn!

I'm sure that, following this less fertile period, the fun will ensue.

It would be easier to find barnacles in Sag A*

Well in the real world we only know of one system that fits the bill

I thought yesterday's hints were for Apademak at 9pm?

No, read carefully, it's on the FP at the top now:

  • Dillon never carries cargo
  • someone who wasn t carrying cargo will arrive in apademak at

We also know that Granger hangs around Apademak as well.
I hope he will be there at 21:00... but who knows? Maybe he will be at Pic Tok? :)

FDEV really need to step forward and just clarify what is actuallly going on cause so many of us are sitting here and are just left in the dark with no idea what's going on, what to do next etc. etc.

No I get what it's saying but I thought that WAS the 9pm hint. If not then that's my mistake and I'm less bothered by the Pic Tok incident.

I guess I got mixed up somewhere along the way with this topic just churning lately.
