Open play isn't 'forcing' you into PvP. This was always likely to be an event with 'live' NPCs, which are impossible to put into your solo game. I know you are frustrated, but it's really not that big a deal.

I was ganked the very first flight I took, unarmed Sidewinder, dead in 3 seconds, I learnt the lesson. Since then I only play in solo or with a friend in a private group. There is no way I will contemplate Open until FD sort out the unwanted ganking. Shame, because I am sure it is much more rewarding to play in open & that's what I was looking forward to when I bought the game. Setting puzzles that require open play just means I probably won't participate.

Still searching the planet in Pic Tok near the coordinates. Searching the craters and found nothing. I think it all comes down to tonight when we get the final clue. I think maybe after this hunt it will show something that indicates about the war between the federation and empire coming or it could be some evidence that aliens are coming, who knows.

With all the hype that started on day four of Gamescom where they had something "face melting" to show and decided to do a little game instead... it's not living up to the hype so far imo. It would be bad if this gets milked for days.

I want to see something awesome Today.

I've raised a bug report about this. The South Pole of any planet is -90 latitude. I made my bearing 0 degrees (due north) and the latitude began moving towards -90.

When I actually crossed the south pole, my bearing changed to 180. Flying south from the south pole. Hmmmmmm.

Just in case anyone isn't aware of this, navigating planets is made even harder given we don't even get our compass in orbital cruise. You need to reverse your bearings when you're flying to get where you want.

I still don't understand why we can't see co-ords in the planetary map and set a waypoint for them. We've had in-car navigation for the better part of two decades already, why can't we even get a more useful compass in 3302?

I was on Pic Tok 5 A for a little bit...

Then I checked the system map and realised it was an icy planet, not a rocky one ;-;

Sometimes I wonder if the griefers only win because we don't organise ourselves enough to deal with them. Frontier shouldn't do anything. It's up to us to deal with this variable. I do agree there should a more imaginative penalty for killing players tho, especially unarmed players. Just my two cents

Yeah, there should be some Canonn Defese Force. I'd be the first to sign up once Saitek sends me replacement for my broken X55 (or the new Thrustmaster Hotas is released), but dogfighting with a gamepad is not fun.
