Anyone else hate engineers

How many of you guys that like to dog on the engineers are going to be spinning cartwheels when insta transfer becomes a thing?

Actually i think instant transfer is a mistake, but it will be fun to see stations sidwinder bombed when people realize what their bookmarks can do.
But imo instant transfer is just a mistake, there are good examples in other games of how multiple ship ownership could work. The engineers otoh is a debacle. It reduces, especially open play, to merely a contest to see who has the highest tolerance for drudgery and repetition.

Seeing as how I've unlocked 8 of the one's I deemed most important to their highest levels and went on to fully upgrade my three most important ships to G5 in every category possible, I guess I win the award:)

I make sure to check wreaks and emissions sources every now and then. I also blast apart rocks that I find before and after settlement mission.

I now have 15 each of the majority of components and scrap and 30 of most elements.

If you're grinding you're DOING IT WRONG!!

Engineerss update put an end to a long and constant ED phase for me. Was really into it for monts prior to that, I had been expecting this, and when it dropped... I did not play a week longer.
But in my case, I knew I needed some perspective. After a few months pause, I'm back on track. I wanted to make some space bucks in preparation for buying the beluga and be a space liner. And I was like - "my trading python could use a better jumprange... let's see". And after that "I still don't feel safe with interdictions, a few hull mods might bring some peace of mind. What do you need, selene? 500 tons of rocks? Not been mining for a long time, let's give it a go.".

And so engineers became a good update for me, about customization ant trying new things. What I REALLY don't like, is when I feel it has become mandatory. I did not feel this weak in a stock ship before. I would rather have a difficult/hardcore AI with less magic powers. Leave the real danger to the thargoids!

I would have preferred a system where you simply move a slider for the main effect you want and the negative counter effects increase in proportion.

"Increase the fuel throughput in the engines (increase engine thrust slider)"
"Okay but that'll require more power to ionise all the fuel"
"Also we'll have to beef up the engine interior to cope with this extra energy"

Not a fan of RNG in this kind of thing,

CMDR CTCParadox

NPCs have nearly no upgrades and whent hey do they are low ranked ones.

And even with upgrades on them its near impossible to die to the NPCs

Engineers is a certain devs trick into making a rational space game with sim elements into a Dungeon and Dragons pay to win. Complete with pay barrier at base game players detriment, enchanted weapons and soon to be fast travel. Lest we forget the dice rolls and the game of chance.

When we get our space legs I want to be Elf and eat all the food.

I hate it with a passion,... and my hopes for 2.2 being on time and loaded with content seems crushed too....

At first it was daunting, not to mention tedious as hell lugging around commodities and stuff and finding materials needed. Over time you learn how to level them up efficiently and unlock the next one and then it gets easier and easier. I did most of mine before 2.1.05 dropped except Palin. It's doable really. It's just gonna take time because I spent almost a month unlocking and maxing them all. The reward far outweighs the grind, that I think many can agree on.
