Maybe it's useful for someone.
I just came back from my deep space exploration in my ASP Explorer
My return point was "Thaile HW-V e2-7" (Three Worlds Nebula) ~11k LY away from my home base.
I jumped 940 times for about 25 days playing ~2h a day (maybe a total of ~50h) and mostly scanned just the main star and did a *ping*. Sometimes i took a look at the system map and scanned nearby suns and interesting planets too but not that often.
On my way back i was more and more sick of this jumping-scanning-scooping thing and skipped the scanning part and did just the ping.
For this work i got in return ~10 Mio credits... (exploring data for ~940 systems). Exploring is no easy money but this was not my opinion. I just wanted to try how it feels travelling in deep space. Nevertheless i thought there will be more money for that bunch of scanned systems.
I think my entire route corresponds to the way to the center.
Now i know how it must feel reaching the center and have to do the same way home.
Congratulation and full respect to all the people made this way to the center (and maybe back).
This was a nice experience.
But when i take a step back and calculating with the 50 hours i have invested (I have to take a closer look with this EDSM tool) i must say this was a complete waste of time. In this time i could have played Witcher 3 with great story and interesting landscapes instead of hours and hours of boring jumping-scooping-scanning.
At least i put my name on a bunch of stars and planets.
Btw selling all the exploring data seemes a bit complicated. I could not sell more than one page (50 systems) on one station. Selling more seemes overwehelming the system.
Because of this i have a bunch of data left to sell. Any idea what to do with it?
Selling it to another faction to gain reputation?
