Lightning hit the pole outside our house on Thursday and killed my Internet and cable. I wasn't home, but the wife tells me it was quite a loud hit and it fried my UPS. All of my living room electronics (cable box, Internet modem, PC, TV, etc.) were plugged into it. Yet, while the UPS died, everything plugged into it seemed to have survived. The cable people finally came this morning, replaced the wiring / cable box and it turns out all of the HDMI ports on my TV are not working anymore. The TV is a day over the one year warranty. Doh. If I can't fix it, I'll be buying a new one.
At least my Internet is back up and running again. You don't appreciate how much miss E: D until it's out of reach. Have any disasters stopped you from playing?
