Morai CG Statistics (for scale and fun)

Because I don't have anything better to do with my life after buying and outfitting my Morai Anaconda, I decided to go and do some simple math on the CG rewards and see just how much did the Empire pay us all.
Upon completion of the CG, these were the statistics:

11,974 total contributors
26,297,942 tonnes delivered
Top 99% receive 800,000 Cr
Top 75% receive 69,189,120 Cr
Top 50% receive 138,378,240 Cr
Top 25% receive 221,405,187 Cr
Top 10% receive 332,107,776 Cr
Top 4 receive 553,512,960 Cr
[h=1]Let's see how much we milked the Empire![/h]For simplicity and curiosity's sake, I'm going to assume that 1 Cr equals 1 USD. This is obviously highly innacurate, probably even in sci-fi terms, so if you're triggered by it, ignore the brackets.
120 commanders did not get any reward, they just didn't get into the top 99%
2,873 commanders got the 99% reward, they cost the Empire 2,298,400,000 Cr (more than the GDP of Liberia)
2,992 commanders got the 75% reward, they cost the Empire 207,013,847,040 Cr or over 207 billion(more than the GDP of Portugal)
2,993 commanders got the 50% reward, they cost the Empire 414,166,072,320 Cr or over 414 billion(more than the GDP of Thailand)
1,795 commanders got the 25% reward, they cost the Empire 397,422,310,665 Cr or over 397 billion(more than the GDP of Norway)
1,197 commanders got the 10% reward, they cost the Empire 397,533,007,872 Cr or over 397 billion
4 top commanders cost the Empire 2,214,051,840 Cr

[h=1]So in total, this project cost the Empire...[/h]1,420,647,689,737 Credits
That's 1.4 TRILLION credits
(That's roughly the GDP of Canada!)

Also, per average each commander brought in 2196.8 tonnes of cargo, that's roughly the weight of an empty HMS Lancaster warship.
*In total, the accumulated weight of the collected materials weighs as much as the entire world annual sugar production

We basically robbed the Empire at this point...

this was posted by cmdr Shiplord Kyren in reddit.

At that rate, it looks like the Federation should take the Empire up on their "we'll match you ship for ship" claim, so they can watch the Empire go bankrupt. :D

The Empire wont' go bankrupt, cos we're all rich Imperials now, spending our money, boosting the economy. It's not like we take all that money out of Imperial space... right? .. right? :p

Indeed, surely no loyal Imperial would buy their new Anaconda from Li Yong-Rui. :p

Oh man, I feel so bad for those 120 CMDR's who tried but didn't get anything!
Not bad enough to give them some of my cash mind you .. but you know .. kinda bad..

The Empire has too much money, thats for sure :D

Now I wonder, how many Capships are they building for that money? Would be curios to know how much they pay for one, and then go and take look at the last Fed Cap Ship CG and see how much they pay for one. Who gets more bang for there bucks?

the CG was to build three new Empire cap ships. As far as I can remember, the last Fed one was to build 3 new cap ships too, but it got nowhere near top tier (correct me if I am wrong)

If this CGs rewards were same as Fed's and nobody raise posts on reddit informing people of such generousity on halfway to top tier, that CG would probably not be completed to end. When players saw rewards of Morai CG, amount of contributors increased drastically and it helped finish CG earlier.

I swear, got into Elite 30 min prior to CG end, and started looking at Eddb.io for closest source of CG commodities. Almost everything in 150 ly around Morai was sucked dry.

To put it another way, the empire paid 54,000 C/T extra on top of the stock price for the materials.

So what, thats a 1000% markup?

So what? Even if it was the GDP of all of Earth's current countries, given the size of the Empire it's probably still just a drop in the ocean.
