Predator XK 100 - Good joystick for ED?

its not a good joystick for elite , logitec exterme 3d pro costs 45 euros (the best in my opinion for the money)
used to have Logitec exterme 3d pro what a very good one , i play Arma 2-3 alot on that joystick , i had it for 3 years and is still working .
in anyway i now have the Saitek X52

it took me some time the get used to it but its very good (have it for 5-6 months now ) and everything works as new

Is this a good joystick for ED? I have it lying around and I don't really want to shell out for a HOTAS.

So it looks like it has 4 buttons, a very small throttle control on the right, no HAT, and no twist for rudder (that's not everyone's thing, but it is mine)

The buttons really kill it. I have 9 on my old MS Precision Pro and its Enough for navigating and some basics of combat.

Whether it's better than mouse and keyboard is going to be subjective, but it's not going to be in the same league as a HOtas. Hell my mspp isn't in the same league, but it is close enough. There is a new thrust master 4 for Ps4 and Pc for ~60 and I'm considering it. I'd lose a couple buttons which would hurt me but I really want that one hand on the throttle feel and the mspp scroll-wheel throttle doesn't cut it.

For the outlay the best HOTAS, if that's what you want, is the Thrustmaster T.Flight Hotas X

It's so inexpensive it's hard to go wrong

I'd second that. The T.Flight is a bargain at only £33.00. Surprisingly robust and Ideal for Elite too.

Note that the two parts can be separated (connected via a shortish cable) so you can have them on opposite sides of your chair for comfort.

The Thrustmaster T-16000m is my top pick so far for a joystick. I replaced my Logitech Extreme 3D Pro and it's orders of magnitude better. It's about the same price as well.

For a throttle, I'm using a Siatek X52 standalone. It's pretty good too, but I understand that Thrustmaster is releasing a standalone throttle of their own soon.

This. Still use the t-flight HOTAS x for throttle and secondary stick, but use the 16000m as primary. Both the 16000m and Extreme 3D pro are more accurate sticks than the t-flight, but neither of them have a stand-alone throttle. If you're not much into combat/fixed weapons, go for the t-flight. Else go for the 16000m. If you can afford both, do that so you have a dual-stick hotas. Obviously you can get better, but not for $100. The new ED thrustmaster is basically a 16000m + t-flight hotas, so pretty perfect. Not sure when it releases.
