Am I a bad person?

For some reason I still feel bad for this.

A while ago I was in a nav beacon cleaning up the scum, when I got a bounty for grazing a t7 with my lasers. There were no cops around so I shrugged my shoulders and continued hunting.

Then my ship exclaimed the fact that I was under attack, and what do you know....a little novice adder picking at my shields. I just sat there staring at this poor guy (who was a CMDR btw) deciding whether or not to disintegrate him for a good minute, after which I boosted through him.

To whoever that adder pilot was, I am sorry, and I hope we get to meet again on equal terms.

Might not have even known you were a cmdr. I sometimes would get confused and shoot the wrong ship or something when I was new. I'm still to this day confused about a RES encounter I had with another cmdr. I thought it was him that blew me up at first, but I'm pretty sure now that it was the wingmate of a wanted ship I attacked that I didn't notice was in a wing.

Ah, reminds of the time I started shooting a FDL... Luckily the other guy was nice enough to say "I don't think this is wise of you"

I felt the same. I just faced him and sat there with all power to shields and waited. 30 seconds and one ring later and he still didn't realise. Hopefully he/she learnt a good lesson..

I wonder why you didn't send him a friendly note over Comms?

I'd be quite curious as to what this guy was thinking ;)
(but I reckon that CMDR wouldn't have been able to reply, probably hasn't even setup Comms yet)

PS.
An NPC line like "Arg! I'm just a simple Miner!" might have done the trick :D

This has happened to me before, they're so pumped up on Onionhead they can't reply!

Self defence - pure & simple...& it's important to give the greenhorns an idea how the ED galaxy works! I had two noob Viper mk IVs attack me in a RES while attacking a Conda in my DBS (Jesus, that ship has been ruined with the PD changes!), a couple of days ago..I think they may have been tempted by my 300k bounty :p

I thought about it long & hard for ooh, half a millisecond, then blew them both back to the rebuy screen.

With my standard short message to the second cmdr in such circumstances..'tut, tut, tut!'

The one time I was in the Adder's position the fully armed and CMDR-piloted Anaconda was polite enough to send me a blunt comment, at which point I sent a hastily apologetic message about failing to notice he was a human before I high-waked out. Which was nice; swatting me away wouldn't have made him a bad person at all.

The Adders was in-fact my first love - and out of that love I'm engineer modding one, and seeing whay can be done.
and using the new mines meta, they can boost away and pick apart npc shields via dropping mines, before doing a 180 and use the class 2 weapon to finish them off.

Cornelius in one of his video's was using the class2 beam laser to tear apart anaconda and finishing them off with dumb-fire missiles back in season1.

They are surprisingly agile, but before 2.1 they just didn't have the engine power to make true use of it.
She'z the 6th most manvourable ship in the game, and the 8 place for longest jump range.

If you don't have an imperial ranking, she's the best Courier ship the game has.

But you don't really want to pick a fight with another commander in one.
