Ceos/Sothis.
Both systems are next to each other. Plenty of long distance hauling missions (legal and illegal), plenty of one jump missions between each other for easy rep grinding, sometimes you get one jump smuggling missions exceeding 3-5 millions each.
And bonus: there's a Fed faction in there, so Fed ranking progression happens while you get rich...and the Sirius corporation is in there as well, so you eventually hit Allied with no effort and get to unlock that Engineer.
Also Ceos has been brought online back from the failed UA bombing by some random dudes, and Sothis wasn't even taken down, so if MAs do immunize stations, they're good to go for some time, I expect.

Ya, Sothis is a treasure trove of awesomesauce. If you have a medium ship like a Python, you can get access to the missions at Sothis Mines which are really quite lucrative.
Incidentally, is there an Empire equivalent? Fehu is dead, and I heard Aditi also got bombed. Haven't check recently, mind you.

Just as long as you left enough in your account to cover a few insurance excess payouts. You did do that, right?
If you want to avoid long hauls like Ceos, become allied with several factions in the same system (pick a system, any system - preferably one not prone to regular 'bust' states). Then you will get offered multiple high paying missions (often in the millions, depending on your trade rank of course).
I can make a fair amount of money out of the Sol system this way (though generally I choose not to as making money is not a high priority for me).
