i think we should settle our Fed-imp war and mobilize for the alien threat looming

So with this new discovering of aliens should we be caught off guard this time ? I say we should gather up the largest grouping of players the galaxy has ever seen and
set up a place so we confront this clear threat to mankind. War is coming, and i think we should meet it head on with greatest pilots and biggest fleet ever assembled

we need as many as we can gather multiple parts and battle groups. I think the time is now! we should launch a instant response or at least set up bases in the area so we have a staging area for when the war breaks out

Poor Zachary is about to waste a lot of the Federation's resources on this expansion into the Pleiades. Why should we choose peace now? There's no value in allowing the Federation to be a dominant actor in humanity's relationship with the aliens. Say what you want about Imperial Slavery, but at least the aliens will be able to trust an Imperial when she speaks. Federation elites will screw them over for a percentage.

you still think that all human factions are indeed under human control. look at the PP leaders, some of them definitely are insects in human skin.

so i would say, step up the paranoia and start the witch hunt in the bubble :)

What makes you think it's the aliens that are going to be the problem? The immediate threat is from the empire, the feds and the alliance scrabbling for power - and the mindless drones slavishly supporting their arms race because they don't realise they have an alternative. You don't have to be a political tool. You don't have to support a "power". You don't have to wake up in the middle of the night in a cold sweat thinking of the millions of baby kittens whose blood is on your hands. Support independents.

The posturing is to build up military power with the pretence of potential war with the other faction. They build up public support to build the warships 'just in time' before the big Thargoid reveal.

Independents travel through witchspace too. You'll be grateful we had an arms race once the Thargoids decide to exact a price for the virus that almost wiped them out. I'm certain their memories are longer than our lifespans.

I bet FD have it exactly planned like this:
- Feds build up for war vs Imps.
- Imps build up for war vs Feds.
- Thargoids attack. What a coincidence Feds and Imps have both buffed their war fleets recently, and join their forces to repel the alien attack.

That said, what I personally wish is for no war with the aliens at all. Let them remain elusive and mysterious, powerful but not hostile, maybe just indifferent.

There is no war between Federation and Empire. Been at peace for over 1000 years. But some players just wish there was.

Why the hype about Thargoids? The interest is in imagination. When they actually arrive they will be damp squibs, like they were in Elite. Meh.
Haven't you seen those scary horror movies that suddenly just become a funny joke when the monster is actually portrayed?

FD's record is very poor with tenable threats. "I'm gonna boil you up.....I didn't expect this" Very twee.
