Distance between two distant stars. Map suggestion.

Currently we have only one way to find out distance between two stars on the map - be in one of those systems. Would like to have an ability to see the distance between two remote systems.
How would that work? Super simple. You select a star, then hold SHIFT and hover your cursor over another star - it shows you the distance between those two stars.
I think it would help in trip planning in very low stellar density areas, where stars few and far between.

Edit. I have to elaborate due to some misunderstanding. I'm talking about galaxy map functionality, nothing about stars in one given system. I want to be able to measure distances between any two stars on galaxy map.

If you are in a bubble then buy the Exploration Data before going. But I don't we should know the distance between stars until we get there if we have not explored it yet.

However, your on-board computer knows all the distances and can plot precise routes to any places. I see no problem here.

Edit. I feel there's misunderstanding here. I'm not talking about system data inside it. I'm talking about distances on a galaxy map.

It know the Main star. They could know there other stars. They might be so close or so far it can't be caculated easy because of interference. It kinda like taking a compass into car and try to register which way is north. It dose not always work and could give you a false reading.

Also It just take player common Sense if you know there a bunch of stars. You enter at your own risk and bring Heat sinks.

Again, I think you misunderstood what I'm asking for. What heatsinks? I'm talking about distances on a galaxy map, between systems. Reread OP :D
