I remember a story line about these guys a while back, not sure what the outcome was. Anyhow, just leaving Founders and there's a large group of Dark Wheel ships sat quietly outside Jameson's no fire zone.

they continue to be a minor faction with about 6% influence in the shinrarta system (founders world) elite access for most ( and kickstarter backers)

Im working on getting allied status with them just for future reference.

I half remember them being involved with Senator Loren in galnet stories but i dont know what came of that or what the plans are for them.

theres no much chance of a breakout for them out of the foudners world, the pilots federation has 70% influence has 3 expansions into nearby systems and out of about 4000 transits into and out of the system probably 70% of those go to maintain the status quo, it would take a large group a fairly long time to make an impact.

I'm pretty sure that I'm allied with them, though it's been a while and I'm a long way from anywhere at the moment. The general rule with The Dark Wheel is don't ask too many questions. I know enough about them to be sure that not everything they do is entirely above board, but then again the same is true of most minor factions.

Real shame The Dark Wheel is just another faction. It could be the avenue to a wonderful storyline and game experience. Instead, nothing. :/

The Dark Wheel referred to in that GalNet article and a few forum posts leading up to it where a mysterious player group that were around for a short period of time. They vanished shortly after that article aired.
