Crashed alien ship question..

First off I do not want the location nor do I want to find out anything out of the game.


My question - is there a way in-game that I can track down the exact location of this sight - in game only !!

I had a brief look through galnet and saw a mention of the ship being found but no location.

again I don't want out of game solutions to this. I want to see it for the first time myself ...

and if it can't be located in-game .. why not ?

You shouldn't have to search out of game for bits of story/game content ..

The system was given in Galnet 8/31, along with the planet and latitude. Theoretically, if you find the planet and traverse it along that degree of latitude, you should find it. All in game, no 21st century interwebs required.

Just a brief word how visible it may be while searching by eye (how I did it), wrapped in spoiler tags in case you don't want to know.

The site did render visibly for me on up at 10km altitude. It was very tiny, but it was there.

I knew about where to look, but spotted it visually from about 3km up, with a touch of luck, on my first visual scan pass.

Would a Gal map link to Gal net stories be a good idea?

We have a tab on the missions to show us the system in question, it would be helpful on news items to also be able to go look at the place.

exactly what i thought .. I was hoping that I could click on the destination in the Galnet story and set a waypoint .. that would have been great.
