I have played Since Gamma and some people have more money than me....

Lots of us have the same issue. People who did the Empire CG earned 3x my net worth easily. Not really an issue, though they should likely increase fuel/repair costs to the old levels if they're going to increase earning like that.

Yes because how much money people have is the issue...not the effort required (or lack thereof) to get it or the effects it has on the broader game.

I know the OP is satire but for the people who actually do get heated over something like this; why do you care what other people make? Play how you want, do what you want, make money at your own pace. Less envious you get of others, the more you enjoy a game like this.

I don't think it's an envy issue, it's that it makes the current death penalty less of a factor. If you get to the point where certain plays have 800 billion credits, they won't care at all about the tiny rebuy cost for losing their Corvette, while it might cripple you to lose your Cobra if you only have 500,000 credits. The same aplpies when we talk about ship transfer. The cost is intended to be the limiting factor, but it isn't a limiting factor if some players have hundreds of billions of credits.

Yeah - me too.

Been here since before Gamma

I did see one other CMDR with a bigger bank account.

What gives?

I've been cheated. He should have to share with me.

Pretty sure his day job is an EU trade regulator...

So who do we pick to regulate what a player can own and how many credits they can have???

You??

Anyone know how old the 10th Commandment is?

Either you're unable to grasp the obvious point or you're being purposefully obtuse. Let's try this way: Frontier made a game that has a risk and reward structure. If the reward for actions (payout) massively outweigh the risk (rebuy/repair/refuel costs), then the risks become meaningless. This is detrimental to the game.

So in your opinion, the game is better if there is no way to equip yourself well enough to minimize the risk of getting killed?

OK - that's your opinion.

I like things the way they currently are.

If I want a higher risk environment - I'll just log in to CQC

Nice strawman. That's not what was said at all. Feel free to read the actual words that were written if you want to continue, otherwise, you're not worth the time.

...my next port of call is an open letter.

<squeaky megaphone voice> Step away from the Open Letter CMDR DeVaStAtOr... think of the children... no one needs to get hurt here today... now put DOWN the pen, and back away from the blank sheet of paper...

<sotto voce> Ready the snipers... on my command...

Not really, theyd have structured it differently otherwise. Losing money is meant to be a small risk and setback. Its not like Eve Online where you cant properly insure good ships and can lose crazy amounts in a short time. Death is meant to hurt a bit here but not that much.
