Title: Time of Chaos declares War on Tucanae

The infamous Chaos Syndicate - also known as 'Time of Chaos' - has announced to oppose the Imperial Federation of Tucanae and Synuefe despite their bid for peace and the proposal of mutual borders along the Upper-Lower Tucanae border. The on and off ambassador of the syndicate, Azazel, declared the following:

"You face embarrassment little one. Your systems will crumble and fail. You can run or be taken. [...] Just a sign of submission is required and you can join with us. Enjoy what you wish. Whether that be booze, drugs and sluts or building your own little mercenary army. We take all. We accept all. We treat all equally. All that is required is that you submit to the nature of the universe and submit to Chaos."

In the face of the oncoming storm, Imperial Chancellor Hank Summers of the Imperial Federation declared to return to his position as a Freedom Fighter. This time inside of the Vesuvit systems.

"The coming weeks and months might be rough, but if we must be the frontline against the chaos that wants to consume the borders of our Imperial Highness Aisling Duval, I will be the first to fight for my home again. Therefore I have decided to give the old Amaranth another go. I am sure she can go for another 10.000 lightyears."

With the Dervishi-Fleet still in repair after the ambush in Muthnir, this war falls solely on the shoulders of the APF (Anti-Piracy Fleet) of the Imperial Federation and its High Admiral Aislin Conrad. While a request to independant pilots and imperial loyalists has been sent out, only time will tell if the neglected Tucanae Sector will see support from the Empire this time or if the last lights of civilization will finally die out.

Title: Concerning the "Alien" Wreck
Location: Galnet
Time: not important

As more commanders have a chance to examine the mysterious wreckage in the Pleiades, many speculate on what the alien wreck means. Many speculate that it is a sign of recent activity in the sector, while a few are going so far as to say it's a sign of an invasion. Most agree that the shipwreck is not human in origin, but exactly how long the wreck has been there or what created the wreckage is still a mystery. Many suspect the craft is of thargoid origin, but that rumor has little evidence to support it.

One pilot who had visited the site stated his opinion on the matter:
"While the alien wreck certainly is something worthy of investigation and study, I doubt it's recent. Judging from the fact that there's no heat signature, and the sickly brown withered appearance, it seems the ship has been "dead" for a while now. I believe it's probably been dead for years, maybe even decades or centuries. It's hard to tell how old something is on a planet with no atmosphere with a simple visual inspection. A more detailed analysis will have to be conducted to determine if the wreck is recent or has been there for hundreds of years. I suspect we have only a small window of time before either the federation or empire show up to try to claim the wreckage for themselves, so we don't have much time to study it."

Many independent pilots are still flocking to the site to examine the wreckage for themselves, but many more questions remain as to what the ship was designed for, how it functioned, or why it was in the Pleiades. Possible links to the barnacles and unknown artifacts and probes have been suggested, but no evidence has been found to suggest a connection as of yet.

Title: Weird Science

Description:

As mainstream research struggles to comprehend the discovery of mysterious remains on Pleiades Sector AB-W B2-4, controversial naturalist Ulla Burton believes she has the answer.

In her latest GalGeo vidcast, Ulla proclaims: "The answer is staring us in the face, its a form of giant space crab and I'm surprised the Canonn Institute never thought of it. This creature had obviously become confused by frame shift emissions, and beached itself while looking for food."

Later when answering viewer questions, Ulla dismissed the remains were dangerous, or indicated other intelligent life.

"The chances of anything coming from the Pleiades or beyond are a million to one, other than some space trees the Federation guard with battlecruisers there is nothing in this remote, forbidding area. The so-called alien probes people vandalise are nothing more than space fungi, and the Canonn should stop misleading people with their pseudo-science."

Title: DENAIN SET TO LEAVE JAQUES STATION
Content:

The communist anti-slavery campaigner Etiene Denain has announced that he is to leave the Colonia Nebula and return to the Bubble.

In a statement made from the steps of the Militia offices on Jaques Station, he said:

"My work is not done. We've created something amazing out here, but back in the Bubble billions are still enslaved. So, it is reluctantly that I tell you that I will soon be departing to carry on the fight.

"I've been invited by the Adamantine Union of Uibuth to assist in their struggle. They have long been allies of the Twin Candles, and we believe that together we can achieve much more.”

Hi Ian

I appreciate that you don't need to give reasons for rejecting articles but the above seems quite innocuous - can I please just check that it's omission is intentional?

Thanks

Title: A Curious Gathering in Cemiess

Location: GalNet, otherwise Cemiess, HR 6421, Pokomovoi, Daras, Umait, and Bhotadda

Time: As soon as possible.

Description:

Radio Sidewinder reporter Commander Jonuss, who is investigating the mysterious faction called the Children of Raxxla, reports that there was a gathering of ships yesterday just outside McKenzie Relay in Cemiess.

One of the pilots in the group was identified as Commander Alessia Verdi. She opened a channel to the whole sector and broadcasted the following message:

"Salomé has been abducted by cowardly agents of the Empire, in unmarked ships. Those fools, yes you in the station, cower behind policy and jurisdiction and will not lift a finger to help. Between Tionisla and Cemiess she (Salomé) has discovered something. Something that links the Formidine Rift with the strange discoveries in the Pleiades. Something that has other connections far off in the galaxy."

The authorities of Cemiess were unavailable for comment, but Commander Jonuss says the gathering seems to be the Children of Raxxla's peaceful way of urging the authorities of Cemiess to investigate the boarding of Salomé's ship.

Title: Adle's Armada Officials Visit Jaques

Location: GalNet

Time: As soon as possible.

Description:

After a long, arduous two week long journey to Eol Prou RS-T d3-94, several Adle's Armada and other Federal dignitaries landed safely at Jaques Station after leaving their home port of Cleve Hub in Eravate. The visit came after several Armada scouts flew out to the area and conducted reconnaissance in the days following the discovery of the famed lost Jaques Station 22,000kly from Sol. "This journey was not an easy one" said Mars Adle. "In true Adle's Armada fashion, we made it by the skin of our teeth, but we pulled through on low hull and a malfunctioning ARM unit, but we're here in one piece!". Along with Mars Adle, other Armada dignitaries include Sky Marshal Dienes, Gen. Owen, Dr. Rue McClanahan and Capt. Carmen Ibanez each transported in separate fully outfitted Armada Class Federal Corvettes. According to local sources, the purpose of the visit visit is to meet with the tiny populace of Jaques Station and ensure them that this grand new human expansion into space will not be hindered by outlaws looking to make a quick credit on the settlers behalf. It was also hinted that Armada scouts have discovered several viable systems around Eol Prou RS-T d3-94 that may be used as Adle's Armada operating stations in the future.

Title: Much Ado About Nothing?
Location: Galnet / Alternatively: Okinura
Time: Any time

Recent statements from Professor Steven Eisler of the Okinura Xenobilogy Institute appear to have gotten him into a lot of hot water with the scientific community.

“Eisler isn’t a field scientist,” said Darius Maddox during his weekly science media stream “Face of the Universe”.

“He’s an academic and him throwing around the ‘T’ word every time humanity encounters something it doesn’t understand is irresponsible.”

Eisler himself has responded to the criticism. “I should have spoken more clearly. I’m definitely not leaping to the conclusion that the object found in the Pleiades Sector is of Thargoid origin. All that I meant was that if, and that is a very big if, it is Thargoid then it is likely to be a relic of the past. While it is true that I haven’t done much field science in recent years I do plan on visiting the site for myself very soon where I'll be looking for clues as to whether this is a fresh find or something that has been sitting down on the surface for a while.”

TITLE: Task Force Closes Slave Markets in Uibuth

DESCRIPTION:

UIBUTH, The Prismatic Imperium's Task Force sent to Uibuth last month has reported success in closing down the slave markets in the Uibuth System via its support for the Adamantine Union, a provisional alternative government created by the freed slaves.

Lord Corwin Ryan, leader of the Prismatic Imperium in Cubeo reported to a press conference earlier this morning, 'The Empire Party in Uibuth reneged on its agreement with the Princess last February after thousands of Commanders freed millions of slaves. The task force, led by the Lord Warden UntamedZer0 has put the freed slaves fully in control of the Uibuth system and the provisional government of the Adamantine Union has asked for protectorate status from the Imperium as we continue to support the colony'.

The Task Force has ended five months of conjecture about the future of the Uibuth System. The battle for d'Arrest Station concluded over the weekend ousting the Uibuth Empire Party for control of the system. It is understood Etiene Denain of the Twin Candles Initiative took part in the liberation of the station.

TITLE: The Formidine Rift Expedition: Determined or Deluded?

DESCRIPTION:

The latest edition of The Imperial Citizen contains another noteworthy commentary on Commander Salomé:
“While making sense is very rare among Federation institutions, the recent statement from the Federal Astrocartography Department on poorly planned expeditions has received general approval. A recently intercepted status broadcast from the so-called Formidine Rift Expedition 3302 seems to confirm the risk of such ventures. While 70 commanders are reported to have enrolled in the endeavor, less than half of them reported back with barely more than 3,000 systems they claim to have scanned. What happened to the remaining commanders? Are they still alive? Is this another failure that can be traced to the rumours stirred up by the highly controversial Commander Salomé?”

We don’t usually publish submissions that seek to provide a blow-by-blow account of a single story. On this occasion, it was felt that your submission ‘Thousands of Slaves Freed after Twin Candles Initiative’ covered the main points.
