Horizons Compromised data beacon

Googled and all I got was ramblings about combat.
I have a mission to Korazotz to scan a beacon.
Beacon is compromised and wont scan. Remembered it was compromised in the past.
A number of questions need to be answered please:
Is a compromised beacon always compromised?
If a beacon is always compromised how do you get a mission to scan it?
What do I do now?
I was going to submit a bug but they want more information than I can find.
One was what version. That is the same as every ones version.
Something about my computer.

If so, it must be due to the presence of interstellar villainous menaces.

Version is Horizons, (or plain Elite) 64 bit (or 32 bit ), Patch 2.2 ( or 1.6) --you select the version when you use the launcher to begin.
I dunno about the duration of the compromised beacons but I think it is a temporary state. I agree that the mission is messed up. Clearly it's not coded to check and eliminate compromised beacons before allocating the destination from the table. That should be an easy fix.

Yes. Horizon, 64 bit. patch 2.2 I suppose. Seeing as how it happened today at 3pm EST in Australia. +10hrs i think.
Solo play.
Korazotz is the system name.

The ONLY time I have had the "All that lovely cargo" was either with cargo or an engineer commodity (even just 1) or some Data Delivery missions which is fun as you cannot jettison them AFAIK.

I HAVE been attacked running totally empty, however NOT with the "lovely cargo" quotes....

Maybe we have the idiot NPCs in our area. They can't read their scanner.
But I must add, sometimes they say "Drop all your cargo" or sometimes they say "I want to be rich, you want to live" then as I reach for my button 4 they start shooting. (In button 4 I can check if phantom cargo has leapt aboard my ship.)

I have been selling all the engineer stuff. It always attracts the elites.

You can still scan CNB to get the system data. Just to check you're doing it right. You drop into it from SC and target the beacon once you've dropped in like it was a ship rather than a location. So to be clear once you drop in you need to target the beacon like it was a ship rather than a location.

AFAIK they are always compromised.

CNB = Compromised Nav Beacon

I don't remember seeing any missions to just scan a nav beacon as an objective. Was the mission about something else, but requires you to either scan a nav beacon or use a discovery scanner to get more information to continue the mission?

Sorry 2 b late.
Gotta scan the beacon, and that gives you the planet number to go get the stuff at the POI. The mission giver tells you the info.
Sometimes you can be lucky and just hit the system to be greeted with "Stuff is at XYZ planet" so you don't have to scan that particular beacon.
The beacon I spoke about is still compromised. Must be permanent.
