OK the time has come to retire this

Most people saying npc is no challenge are in high spec engie builds,if you want a challenge then just fly stock ships, pretty sure you will find the new npc tough enuff then.

probably. though I would be cannon fodder to the other Cmdrs.
that's what they removed engineered NPC's

Carry one ton of engineer cargo, problem solved. You are instantly the target of psycho elite NPCs

While I typed the above, was interdicted by a Deadly NPC for my 4 tons of engineer cargo.

Besides....in a HAZ RES you won't see any security
You're on your own there.

You shouldn't, but you do.. It was especially problematic for me as I accidently picked up a Wanted status for accidental murder.

tried that it makes no difference.

In a Res? Day and night difference. Went to the current CG with some cooling hoses that I got from some mission and forgot I had them. Had to get out with only 500k in bounties. NPCs were just overwhelming.
Without cargo I make about 2-3 million per hour and ended up in the top 10% of the CG (with about 3 hours contributed :p ).
Didn't really have that many issues with the NPCs at the "hight" of their un-nerfedness and as long as I could 1vs.1 duel an Elite FAS in my FAS without losing shields, I didn't consider the NPCs overpowered.

I think they have fixed the spawn tables. LFT 133 HazRes had no cops there.
But still plenty of PowerPlay NPCs at the start.

One thing Kingston@#; when you say you find the AI too easy, what ship are you flying and what's your loadout?
The AI proves a decent challenge for me; I'm ranked Deadly and am flying an FDL, with not many engineered modules (two thermal vent beams and some work done on my distributor). I rarely fly in wings, and since the update, have found that when attacking NPCs, I have to make sure they're not winged up.

I literally just took that, that is cops in a HAZ res in LFT 133. They were there last night and still here today. Unless I'm misreading what you are saying. I can get a video if needs be.

(Or are you saying they added the Cops for the CG? Because that would be foolish of them as there is Highs and Lows already there)

No. I meant that for me, the Hazardous Ressource Sites in LFT 133 did not spawn any system security.
Guess I just had a "lucky" roll then (sometimes even in High and Low res, cops don't exist - or high wake out at the start - but it's very rare) and the presence of the cops wasn't actually fixed. :/

If you have a video, maybe post a bug report. I don't think - considering the "security link disabled" message you get - cops at haz res are actually "working as intended". It makes taking a large shield-tanking ship like the Vette to that Res completely pointless.
Better money/hr is taking a FAS of FDL to a 10 cop (2 Anaconda) High res and just "tagging along" - but that's also pretty boring.

ship is a python. 2 lasers 1 gim 1 tur. 2 x multi-cannon with added extra from engineers. 1 plazma with added dazzle. 2 shield boosters engineered. 40.2watts power, engineered dist and engine. engineered thrusters. I think that covers it.

in this ship I have no problem dealing with 3 anacondas in a wing

how to kill a great game. take on board what the winging masses want and ignore those who like it hard!

To be fair, you're the one who's whinging right now... :)

Since you're trying to rank up with the Empire, why don't you find an Empire aligned faction that's at war and help them out by collecting combat bonds? NPCs in High Intensity CZ tend to be high ranking, and generally tougher (military grade hulls) than your run of the mill mission NPCs.

You could also try dropping into threat level 4 USS which should provide a wing of relatively decent combat ships looking for aggro, and if you do so in a system where you have bounties and leave "Report Crimes Against Me" on, then when the system authority turn up to investigate, they might even join in attacking you.

You can raise your own level of challenge without resorting to flying an unshielded Sidewinder, or taking low ranking missions where they send Mostly Harmless Adders after you... :)

I agree I am winging about the fact wingers get what they want, soft targets. I will keep on winging until they give me what I want, hard targets! fairs fair.

your suggestion concerning combat bonds I do that as well. once you have mastered the combat zones they to are easy.
for those who would like to know how to make life easy in a combat zone. = stay with the pack, don't go off on your own.

But why are you going after Anacondas? Those are the worst of the large combat ships in the game. Hull hardness 53. No damage penalty by having only Large and no huge hardpoints against them.
Try a Combatzone with some Cutters.

Well, that is a very boring way of playing a combat zone.
Can be played differently for added excitement.

I've just made one. Also I gained my murder bounty in the HAZ res and seeing as the system link is down that's not right.

There was a large wing of Feds there last night, couple of Anacondas and a few Vipers. We were just rinsing through the pirates in seconds, every target I attacked they would be on it in seconds.

Fair enough... :)

Frankly, once you master anything it becomes easy, and I guess if you've mastered NPC combat in Elite then perhaps you should try and find some PvP groups to play with. At least that option is there for you.

Combat in smaller ships is way more fun, so how about trying a multi purpose Viper Mk4?

Ride a motorbike with no helmet. Drive a car with no seatbelt. Race a rally car with no roll-cage. Drive a bus off a cliff because it's more of a challenge than on an actual road.

There are all stupid statements, just like shooting yourself in the foot to make walking more complicated.
you have just counted things extremals do to get more adrenaline - suddenly more risk, more challenge, you will lose few kk from your grinded billion in case of death, what a disappointment
or is flying without shileds too dangerous for you or to the OP? too much salt, get a life or dont cry, truly hardcore players pass the shooter single with only pistol in hand
