I see the game is still a Joke....

So you want the game to be magic , with super easy mode that makes sure you allways win no matter what?

No, just make them less annoying.

1. There are too many of them.

2. No pullback if an interdiction happens.

3. Same rules for everyone.

4. The Frame Shift Interdictor has to have limited use.

There has to be a way out without logging/high wake...Elite is not about sidey vs. FDL. In this state those npc's are just a cancer to a already troubled game.

Maybe there should be a dialog wheel: If he wants my cargo lets negotiate, if he wants to kill me, maybe he takes a bribe etc. etc.

But that would be too much fun, right?

I guess the FDL is crap.

Usually at interdictions I shot the AI ships up within seconds with a bigger ship.

The fdl isn't crap. Properly outfitted, it hits stupidly high shield strength. I wouldn't be surprised if it hits 2k with the right mods.

1) "A way out without High-waking" Umm... wat? You want the NPC to bring you flowers and carry you to the nearest station?

2) If it is a pirate and wants the cargo and you don't WANT to escape (judging from your previous sentence) then simply dump the cargo. They'll let you be.

1. No, read the comment.

2. ...or i high wake/log out. The whole system is just dumb.

I see nobody actually read the OP. The issue is with ships instantly appearing behind you and interdicting you without ever being in super cruise.

Yep. That annoys the hell out of me. I can almost always kill or escape them but that really isn't the point... At all.

Yes, this game still has no insta win button.

Ohh you were complaining about NPCs spoiling fun?

Interdictions are cool mechanism. Fact people find it annoying is because it is sudden, not telegraphed and I guess thats bog no no in their book. But that's whole point.

You can escape from interdiction quite successfully, even if losing a bit of ship's integrity. If you don't like pirates coming after you - how about not taking those high paying missions which have high risk/high reward idea going around?

I have no problem with being interdicted. Bring it on I say.

My contention lays within the repeated interdiction. When you escape or kill an NPC, return to supercruise and not 20seconds later that NPC is back interdicting you again. THAT is annoying.

The real annoyance is when they spawn in front of you or around another body in supercruise just after you left them near the star. Of course they can interdict you again if they can teleport.

They don't exactly teleport - they aren't *that* persistent in first place, so they don't cheat.

However I suspect spawning right behind you and start to interdict you right away IS annoying. FD should mitigate that.

The first time its not so much a bother. The eighth time within 650ls...

So I've been away from ED for about 4 months and recently bought an Oculus so decided to give it another go. Gotta say that the VR experience is fantastic. But after 2 days of playing ED again I see there are still many issues I thought would have been ironed out by now, like the issue I am experiencing now:
I have a simple delivery mission but for some reason the game thought it would be a good idea to spawn a Fer de lance with master skill level to take me out on my final jump; I mean the game really knows how to annoy you, it waits until I'm 5 secs away from the station before interdicting me. This would be fine if I could somehow get away from it but I see FD are still cheating when it comes to AI; it doesn't even appear on my radar when in SC then bang, I am being interdicted and it pulls me out of SC instantly. I drop out of SC and my shields drop within 3 secs and there is no way I can fight it so I jump out of the system. I jump back (after repairing) and the cycle starts again... This isn't my idea of fun.
sorry wihtout evidence of your story i just dont take your word for it posters are known to lie and over exagerate as if it absolve themselves of blame or stupidity

Unless im insanely lucky i don't think i have every had any of the problems people speak of and i do fly sidewinders cobras t9s eagle. i understand when im going to be destroyed and run but i don't get stopped from completing a goal just play round it. what annoys me is combat ships that can keep up with me jumping in a asp with 35ly jump range.VULTURE "hey iv traveled a long way for a hall like this!" or mining 300lys outside the bubble in an undiscovered asteroid belt. FDS "dont worry the scan doesn't hurt" that needs sorting as it very frustrating and has to be an easy fix. but most situations in elite can be thought round rather than hitting your head against them.
last night in my A specced python almost (CANOPY BREACH) got killed by elite FGS great fight i ran went and got my cobra mk3 and had another fight with a FGS elite rank killed him. i could out turn him and stay behind him. so knowing the limits of the ship your in realy helps win fights. like trying to drag race a mclaren p1 in a ford escort your going to lose.

good luck CMRDs

Its called gameplay .... would you prefer to just not get interdicted at all? Where is the challenge in that?

So your idea of fun is playing a game with zero challenge then.

I once got interdicted 8 times within 200 ls. I rage quit for a few days. :p

I get that daily and I'll happily take the extra credits for vaporizing every wanted npc that interdicts me on top of the mission pay out. Besides I find it to be actually fun. Everytime an npc interdicts, I submit. And depending on what ship I'm in, I'll either fight it out, or I'll just outrun them. These npc's are nothing more but a check whether you're able to play your ship to its strenghts. If I fly out in a stripped speedfreak Icourrier, do you think I'm going to dogfight it when being interdicted? Or would I use the superlative speed of my ship to my advantage...? hmmm choices choices

Yeah I've done that before.

Yeah, that's well and good but after 1000+ hours and the 8th interdiction in the same 200ls run it gets to wear a little.

this is purely about game-play mechanics and understanding them.

If you take that high pay out mission rated above your own rank, doesn't that set off a little bell somewhere that the actual difficulty thus might be in line with the rank mentioned on the mission scrseen.
like you know, the fact that FD even bothered labeling missions with ranks is an indication that it has some sort of significance on gameplay, which translates as "something might happen en route"? Thus forcing a cmdr to think whether his ship and load out would suffice?

You're missing the point. The constant interdiction aren't hard, they're annoying/not fun. Getting interdicted over and over and over and over and over and over while trying to travel a few hundred light seconds, regardless of whether or not you kill the NPC is not good game design.
