So far I've had 5 imperial aligned pilots in the new CZ CG combat log on me (I have video evidence of it, is there a place to properly report them?) and I've had people rage at me because I killed them...in a war.

Yes, I do have an A-rated Corvette with Engineer upgrades to my weapons. But you know what? IT'S A WAR. How is it "unfair" for me to kill you?

Do you think it's "unfair" to kill the Cobra NPC pilots in the CZ? Probably not. So why are you getting mad that I "unfairly killed you in a small ship with my large one?"

It's not like I'm in a low intensity conflict zone. I'm in the middle of a high intensity one, fighting against the imperial capital ship, NPC's, and you. Like, what the heck? Is this what it has come down to?

They're just being cry babies. Wait for them to come back and kill them again. It's perfectly fair to kill them in a CZ, small ship or not. Someone once said that if you find yourself in fair fight during a battle you've made a mistake. Take every Advantage.

I know you are joking, but to be fair, one of my kills was because I didn't see them and actually crushed them to death. It was a competent eagle pilot or something [haha]

I honestly do feel bad every single time I kill someone in a CZ who's clearly not up to snuff. People seem to think I'm some kind of heartless monster because I like messing around, like I'll interdict traders, attack them till they are at 1% and then leave them. And apparently that makes me a terrible person.

But the reality is, I'm very conscious of what a death may cost someone and I generally feel bad if I kill anyone at all. I know that seems contradictory considering the topic of my post but in this case, it's a full out war and I have to in-game, put aside my queasiness to fight. It's not that I even really support the federation either, so it's not because of pride for who I am fighting for. It's easy to assume that people who beat you in PvP overwhemlgnly are jerks who have a laugh at killing easy targets but while it may be true for some people, it's not for me. So it's frustrating to see people accuse me of being something I am not and then act as if, even if I was wrong to kill them for whatever reason, that they have some moral high ground because they died to me in the middle of a G WAR.

The point is, I often let people in small ships who have a low combat rank flee. But sometimes they refuse to do that. So I kill them. And then I get angry messages accusing me of being some villian.

And of course, that's just for the people in small ships. The people in FDL's, Clippers, and the Cutter I fought who all combat logged on me were equally salty, except they have NO ground to stand on whatsoever. Yet they have the audacity to act as if I'm the bad guy? With the Cutter, I didn't even START the fight. (Though I sure as hell ended it when they logged back in)

Even if they hadn't cheated. THIS IS WAR!!!

That's sad. Even Mobius gets what CZ's are for. You can freely kill opposing players in them while playing in the Mobius private group.

Only reason I haven't touched this new CZ CG is because I really dont care for the hatemail I'd get.

Plus, Id have more fun running sorties with a wing, and don't have anyone willing lol

Why do people PvP then log? It's not even like you're in a trader, and are in open for the chance to meet likeminded CMDR's and are jumped by a 5 x packhound toting FDL, you've flown into a conflict zone, on purpose, with the mind set to shoot and be shot at...

I got nailed by a CMDR in a CZ in my Vulture the first time I joined one, he picked me off after I took on a couple of Anacondas and was in not so good shape. Smart guy, he nailed me, well done - I tried to run, but he got me before my FSD could fully spool.

Re-buy screen, fly back to CZ and back in the thick of it, good times!

If you're worried about rebuy, get your free-winder souped up a bit and mimise losses, it's still fun!

I'm generally against PVP, It's never what Elite has been about, and putting PVP into ED has opened up a can of gank-worms that FD are going to find it hard to put back into the box.

HOWEVER

If ever there's a time and place for PVP, it's in Combat Zones. (imo that should be the ONLY place for PVP, but I digress). Don't feel bad about attacking enemy players in a combat zone. We would defend your right to do that, totally.

I mean...it's a CZ in a CG. In open.....there kill players other players :D
Better make sure to have at least 10x insurance on the hand. Otherwise don't go there xD

In war, people get angry about 'injustice'. Your 'victims' are just doing whatever to survive.:D It's so unfair isn't it?:D
Why are you so mad? Your gameplay suffering or what?
And what do you expect from people? To play by the book? To lamely accept your behaviour they might see as objectionable?
Some players will accept the role playing here in it's fullest sense but most will not.
Combat logging is here to stay so you must accept it or not play ED at all.[sad]

I fully support this stance.
CZs regardless if there is a CG on-going or not, is for Combat. In Open this means PvP combat as well as PvE. This is where PvP actually means something. You are fighting for your side, the other person is fighting for theirs.
Mobius tolerates PvP in CZs cause there is no in-game way from preventing CMDRs from firing on each other and in a middle of a war shots can go flying all around.
But in Open, CZs should be THE PvP arena, also the PP version of CZs.

Even in Mobius, killing CMDRs on opposite sides of a CZ is acceptable and allowed. Killing CMDRs there in Open should be perfectly fine.

Now, if you're a "neutral camper", sitting on the edge of a CZ and waiting for several minutes for a CMDR in the thick of it to become damaged so you can declare for the opposing side and swoop in like a hyena to finish them off, then yeah. That's a dirty trick and you'd deserve to be called nasty names. But even so, "all's fair in war". It's certainly not a breach of any written or unwritten rules of engagement.

As for reporting combat loggers: there's a "report a player" option in the Main Menu of the game. I'd assume that's the sort of thing you're supposed to use it for.

Quick question, is it only not allowed to kill other commanders in Mobius so you can pirate them as long as you don't kill them or is that not allowed aswell?

From what I've read on the forums, I think ramming or firing upon a CMDR anywhere except in a CZ is grounds for exile. Mobius is a piracy-free zone, except for NPCs.
