Issues gaining standing with the Sirius Corporation

I'm trying to unlock all the engineers and I've gotten the basic info about Marco Qwent, whom I need to befriend before I can get in touch with Palin, whom in turn I need to upgrade my thrusters.

Well, I'd love to start doing whatever it is Marco wants me to do, but I need an invite from the Sirius Corporation first. Well, no biggie. I'll go to one of their stations and do some missions. I go to Procyon, land in Davy Dock, and go for a break.

When I come back, I find that I'm... allied with the Sirius Corporation? I definitely wasn't allied before I logged out. In fact, I wasn't even friendly. It just happened when I logged back in. I also got a permit mission (which... doesn't seem to have actually worked). Of course the Marco remains locked.

What's going on? o_O

Very odd.

Faction standing can be oddly delayed sometimes.
A quick relog can update it.

As for Qwent, his mission should pop up soon enough.
I assume you ranked up Elvira to rank 3, and about 33% to rank 4?

Also, hold on to any Modular Terminals you come across.
They're super common as mission rewards until you need 25 of then to unlock Qwent.... lol

Go to Avik, and pew-pew in the Nav Beacon. Hand the bounties into the Sirius Corp. controlled station.

It's nowhere near as bad as mission running, or going out and finding $5 mill worth of exploration data

there is a glitch i know by myself, where a station suddenly turns allegieance, or you turn hostile .... so - why not?

or you did work in sothis/ceos for sirius corp, and didn't notice?

The invite quest for Marco will only be given by a station IN the Sirius system. Check those, go back and forth if necessary, it will eventually show up.

After you get the Sirius permit, you have to go to the station in Sirius and get another mission to unlock Qwent himself. For me, it was another data transfer mission.

Yep. You need to do the permit-unlocking mission from Sirius Corp to get the Sirius permit. Then you need to actually go to Sirius to get the mission to unlock Qwent.

As for your spontaneous alliance formation, I suspect you were mistaken about not being allied to Sirius before. Especially if you have been doing Ceos/Sothis runs, as it is the same Sirius Corp that owns interests out there as owns interests around Sirius itself.

Hmm... Yes, I DID work for them in Sothis. And I was alligned with them there. You're correct.

It appears this is how the chain of events looked like:

- earn rep with Sirius by doing missions in Sothis
- I arrive in Procyon, and I find I've got no rep with the Sirius Corporation (I forgot that they are present in Sothis)
- I relog (made myself some tea, took a break)
- I'm allied now! I get a permit (mission?).
- I still can't access their home system nor have I been invited to meet Marco.

At this point I'm scratching my head...

I'll check again once I have some time after work...

You can't get the invitation mission for Qwent in any other system than in Sirius. You can log in and out million time in Procyon and it will never show up. This is true and is clearly written on the info screen for Qwent inside the game. You need to get the permit for sirius system and then go there to get the invitation. Permit is given after you complete mission that is similar to military rank up mission and say that it will give you permit as reward.

Get Sirius rep (Allied with Sirius Corporation). -> Get mission to gain access to home system (Sirius). (You are here) -> Go to Sirius system. -> Base jump until you get Qwent invitation mission.
