Enemy inside the gates, Frontier please rethink this

There are lots of small player factions in the galaxy working the BGS, and space is at a premium. And with the entrance of EGP, the uncontested winners and new Power Play faction, it is almost unavoidable that some toes will be stepped on, I get that I really do.

That being said, how in the unholy goatthumping heck did Frontier think it was OK to give away the HOME SYSTEM of SEPP, the 3rd place contestant in the Dangerous Games, as a Control System for the winners, EGP???

Is this how you reward people who work their butts of for 1000's of man hours over a year to place in the top 5 in the BGS, and work their butts off again by campaigning to make the Dangerous Games a successful and fun competition? A group that worked to secure the safe return of countless Explorers to the bubble. You "reward" us by giving away our home systems to our former adversaries??? By parking a nuclear bomb in our living room?

That is unbelievable. I literally cannot believe that Zac Antonaci would have the gall to treat players with such callous disregard. Players that have spent the last year dedicated to Elite and to promoting his dangerous games, and even more that have poured their lifes blood into these home systems.

Kpaniya alone represents literally hundreds of man hours of SEPP effort to win the BGS and claim its station. And yet in a single post, Zac, you wipe away all of our effort. Not just of Kpaniya, but also by putting the russian juggernaut that is EGP right into our HOME you threaten our very existence. We are a small dedicated group, and cannot hope to survive the russian onslaught. You are literally murdering SEPP. That is our reward for being a contestant in the Dangerous Games. With 10,000s of systems, nay 400 BILLION systems to choose from, you plop down a tumor right into the heart of SEPP.

That is the most foul thing I can imagine any Frontier employee actively doing to a player. We don't get to own anything in the game as is it, and the little that we can call our own takes a monumental effort to scratch out and then to maintain for months on end. And Zac can just take it away with a snap of his fingers? That is beyond horrible.

WOW is all I can say on that. Looks like Frontiers Community Manager dropped the ball again. He basically told SEPP B.O.H.I.C.A. with this move

I wonder if he will actually fix this or will he give his trademarked "I can't believe you guys are upset when we try to do something for you" routine

I've only recently came back into the game to play it again. I am not the strongest player, nor the most active, but should this move be completed with the approval of Zac and Frontier, I may well leave the game entirely and advise others against taking it up.

They have done this before in other regions in the bubble. FD seems to be not very sensitive when it comes to care about their playerbase. Every time they do such things it shows more and more their limited perception.

Almost page 2 and nobody disagrees with OP yet? Could be a new record!

PS

Add a poll. Polls are cool!

OP is one of the good ones you cant disagree :)

haven't followed the events, but this "there-is-no-second-price" is very elite-unlike.

imagine CG where only the top 5 cmdrs get something or CQC where only the points for the match winner get applied to the ranking. nobody would participate.

Wow... I don't have a horse in this race but that is a pretty poor decision by Fdev, would be interested to hear their rational for this?
I suspect that it's because there are very few decent systems for Powerplay that aren't already occupied by other powers.

Of the eight systems suggested so far, at least three of them are either the home system of a player minor faction (Kpaniya) and/or part of an area that is Powerplay-free because players worked to keep it that way (Wadir last week, Gyhldekala this week.) Gyhldekala is also just one expansion from exploiting Manite. I can think of at least one group (not EGP) that would push Grom that way, even without the ease of expanding into systems that wouldn't be contested by other powers.

Is this an open letter? It sounds like an open letter but it doesn't say 'open letter' anywhere. I'm so confused. :S

Seriously though, not a PP player myself but I can understand why this would put people's backs up for sure. That said, as OP says it's in a region which is totally free from PP influence. If they need to block out space for a new faction, areas that are totally free from PP are unfortunately where it's going to have to be. How much space is there in the bubble that's totally free from PP, isn't full of junk systems which would hamstring any new faction from day one and therefore be a huge kick in the teeth to the faction that actually won the Dangerous Games, yet also wouldn't involve treading on someone's toes?

I agree with OP, this is far from being nice.

btw, what´s up with the EG Pilots? I never heard of them before the dangerous games and never after it. Do they play in pg only? I even visited their homeworld, but never met one person. I also think their area shouldn´t be too big for the start, they should have to work their way up.

OP is one of the good ones you cant disagree :)

I can

Powerplay is on a completely different layer than minor factions or major factions. The one in between.

Every minor faction is bound to eventually be within some powerplay territory. Where the hell would you rather be?

Doesn't it make a whole lot of sense for the competitors to be within or close to the new powers territory? You've been competing for the same space after all.

Didn't half of everyone even consider supporting EGP in case they'd ever start to struggle against GalCop?

Get over yourself, EGP is not your rival anymore - they are now playing on a different level.
